Tess Menzies can work a spell with a few blinks of her baby blue eyes. But this dedicated witch can't summon up a single good reason she's been made an envoy between her kind and Manhattan's fiercest were-creatures. The two sides haven't spoken in four hundred years, and she'll need every miracle in the book to broker any kind of truce. And that means outwitting Council of Others leader Rafael De Santos, whose tantalizing moves and fierce hungry kisses are magic even a formidable sorceress can't resist...
It doesn't take a cat's supernatural senses for Rafael to suspect that there's something strange about this unexpected peace offering. And finding the truth is just as tempting as uncovering the secrets Tess is trying to conceal. Why, she's tantalizing enough to make this wandering were-jaguar think he's found the perfect mate-one he's only dreamed of. But his stealth and her spells can't guarantee they have a chance at survival, much less a future together....

"Too much sex, not enough plot."
I place this story as around #6 the chronology lineup.
I have been waiting for this story to be told for a long time. Unfortunately, it was less than stellar. There was way too much sex for the amount of story line, and the plot was so thin you could see through it. If the truth be known, the series would have been better off without this addition.
Seriously limited TIME! which is why I love audiobooks. I can do chores and ignore distractions by plugging my ears with my favorite authors
"all you love about the "others" in this series"
First, let me say that I have checked the author's website and this book should be number 7 in the storyline order of this series. Second, again let me say that everything you love about the "Others" in this series, you will find in this book. Out of everything my one complaint is that it ended far to soon, yet had the author dragged it out with the usual "filler" that would have spoiled it. I suppose I do have a second complaint but not about this story and that is that for some reason Tantor Audio has yet to publish number 6! So if you are fanatical about story order you should pick up "on the prowl" in print before you start this one. Oh! FINAL WARNING-LIKE ALL CHRISTINE WARREN'S BOOKS THIS IS SUPER HOT! Last comment I promise, the book On the Prowl I referred to? make sure it's by Warren not Briggs, that is a whole other great story!
