"Painfully honest and always funny"
As always, Jon Ronson is thought-provoking and funny in this glimpse into his personal life.
QUESTION : DOES LISTENING TO AUDIO BOOKS MAKE YOU SMARTER? If so, I'm. Freakin Genius!
"A Funny, Free, Family Portrait!"
Warning : Explicit Language Used.
If you just so happen, to listen to this book, say, on your Kindle Fire, with say, your children in the room, you have been warned! And your welcome.
Other than that, this book was so FUNNY! If you don't laugh, and I mean really laugh, at the last story. Then something is really wrong with you! SMILE
Making the world better one review at a time.
"Ronson's voice alone will make you laugh..."
These four short stories by Jon Ronson are very easy to relate to. Anyone who has a child, spouse, neighbor, friend and / or parents will find a connection here. Jon Ronson is a wonderful writer and an even better reader. Ronson's voice alone will make you laugh as you listen to these stories. I have been a fan of Ronson's since I read The Psychopath Test, and these delightful and humorous stories only made me more of one. I can't wait for the next Ronson read!
But it’s a Kosher frog!
"Entertaining Little Freebie"
Cute and entertaining. Like Seinfield, it all about nothing. I look forward to the release of his next book.
"The best!"
Yes, absolutely
Yes, two others. They are all good, but i love these short stories. I want more....and they would be worth buying!
Full disclosure....why we are all happily neurotic
Jon Ronson is the cat's meow!
Tell us about yourself! I am a 43 year old wanna be intellect. I love people doing things for me and i guess that includes my reading! My interests vary widely so this site is right up my alley....maybe too much so!!!
"Great sense of humor"
It was free and of excellent quality
Jon himself because he thinks in the abstract and outside of the box, but never leaves reality. A quality i wish i had.
The extreme wit and brute honesty
Comfortably Dysfunctional
I look forward to getting to know this writer. I went and found his stuff as soon as I listened to it. Thanks for the freebie
When I drive, I read... uhm listen. I like SciFi, Fantasy, some Detective and Espionage novels and Religion. Now and then I will also listen to something else.
"Needs a specific taste in humor"
This is definitely not my cup of tea. The stories are supposed to be funny, but really aren't. It could be that this type of humour isn't funny to people like me. I found the first story vulgar and the rest very dull. It is for free, so try it and decide for yourself.
"Very funny"
The short stories are really funny. They are well worth the price (free). This is a no-brainer, definitely get this collection of shorts and give them a listen. They are simply fun listens.
""F" word not wanted"
This is supposed to be a "family" book? Only heard the first three sentances when I knew this book was not for me.
Since taking my first creative writing class in 2008 the pleasure I used to get from reading has been greatly reduced. I notice things I never noticed before. That said, I think I rate books pretty generously. Anyone who actually manages to write a whole book and then get it published deserves an extra star.
"So - what IS the worst swear word?"
A great little compilation of Jon Ronson's self-deprecating, anxiety-ridden stories about family life. He's kind of a straight David Sedaris.
