The world has fallen in love with Nick Gautier and the Dark-Hunters. Now Nick’s saga continues in the next eagerly anticipated volume....
Go to school. Get good grades. Stay out of trouble. That’s the mandate for most kids. But Nick Gautier isn’t the average teenager. He’s a boy with a destiny not even he fully understands. And his first mandate is to stay alive while everyone, even his own father, tries to kill him. He’s learned to annihilate zombies and raise the dead, divination and clairvoyance, so why is learning to drive and keep a girlfriend so dang hard? But that isn’t the primary skill he has to master. Survival is. And in order to survive, his next lesson makes all the others pale in comparison.
He is on the brink of becoming either the greatest hero mankind has ever known, or he’ll be the one who ends the world. With enemies new and old gathering forces, he will have to call on every part of himself to fight - or he’ll lose everyone he cares about. Even himself.

"YA Novel interesting enough for all Adults"
Interesting, Entertaining, Engaging
Nick, of course. He is such a wonderful character, his dual nature makes him incredibly interesting and his choices and decisions show that he is trying so hard to continually do the rigth thing regardless of what everyone keeps telling him. He is determined not to let others dictate his future.
Holter Graham has definately embodied the character of Nick. He reads as if the story is, indeed, his and the emotional depth he brings to the character is one of the best things about listening to the book.
I think Nick's regard for his mom is heartfelt. Though I do not think they really understand each other and the constant whining and badgering of his mom makes me realize even more how much Nick cares for her that he just stands and takes all she dishes out.
Very enjoyable series. I am looking forward to hearing more from Nick and finding out if he is "master of his own fate".
Author of The Zochtil, Read by Nick Sullivan
"Best Book in the Series Yet"
The Chronicles of Nick keeps getting better. In this book, Kenyon continues to give more depth to her characters and they really seem to be actual people they all have that much history and depth to them.
At the same time Nick is growing into his demon powers very fast. The question is can he control them or will they control him?
Can't wait for the next book to come out.
I have an addiction to Audio books. What I can't get at the library, I come to Audible and they are always having a sale. I have way more audiobooks than I could possible listen to in over 3 years, but I can't help but adding to my collection and I read a little of everything but mostly romance and paranormal goodies.
"CON...Great!"
I just love Nick, he is such a dichotomy of a person. I love Sherrilyn Kenyon books she brings both humor and grief into the stories with perfect blend. This book is more for young adults, but when she brings these stories and the dark hunter stories together, I believe they will be more adult themed. Of course, you can’t miss them if you read the dark hunter series. Holter Graham is a great reader.
"Cant wait for more!"
Yes and I allready have to many of people. I have even gotten my kids listening to them now and all of their friends.
Yes I have and he is the best at what he does. No one can compare to Holter. So glad to have him back instead of Fred for Sherry's books.
I know they are making movies out of these books and I hope they name them just the way the book is and dont leave out any of the important stuff like when they made the Twilight series.
Always looking for a great Fantasy Series... Please do make suggestions...
"Sherrilyn Does it again"
I have listened to every SK CON, Dream Hunter, Dark Hunter and Werehunter audio book that SK has. I can not wait for the next installment.
If you are not a Sherrilyn Kenyon listener yet this is a great story line to jump start you off. Start with the CON series and then jump into the Dark Hunter Series for the back ground of all the characters. You will get sucked into the NOLA life style and familiar surrounding if you have ever visited New Orleans, LA. You will cheer on Nick and Freinds and get a better understanding of who to expect when you listen to the other Series for back storeies.
"nice read..."
Yes
When Bubba's momma came to town. Got a bit more backstory about both Bubba and Mark.
Bubba dressed in a suit and clean cut...to take his Momma to church so she could thank God for not letting her plane crash.
Nick Gautier can't get a break.
I like this series immensely. But it seems as though Sherilyn has too many irons in the fire. This book, along with several of her other recent releases, seem a bit predictable. It's a shame that publishers will push popular authors to crank out as many books as possible so that they can make a profit. Literature would be much more colorful if they were'nt so eager to make a buck.
With the vampies, of course
"I could listen to Holter Graham read the phone boo"
I can't possibly name a favorite - but it's one of the best.
Infinity, Invincible...same character =)
All of them. He's got beautifully distinct voices for them and I love it.
That one moment between the beginning and the end.
"Excitement Continues"
I've read the Dark Hunter series and loved how this story continues with many of the same characters. The Dark Hunter universe is facinating to follow. I also like the story coming from Nick's POV.
Holter Graham does a wonderful job with the narration. He is one of my favorite because he makes you feel like there is more than one person doing the narration. All his characters have distinct voices that are right on target.
I have enjoyed the series so much that I just started the final installment today. Let the fun continue!
"Love me some Nic"
Just finished it, so far my favorite
Nic of course. He is taking us on his life's journey and it's awesome
yes
all of the above, especially when I found out that either Cody or his mom will die for him to become a dh
can't wait for nic'a next book
"Love it"
It is always cool to go back and explore a charicter and get a feel for their lives prior to popping into a book/scene
I love his voices for the characters. With several previous Nick appearances, the reader didn't do Nick or Akeron(sp) justice. I absolutely hate when a reader makes all Southerners sound like uneducated idiots, Holter Graham did not do this and was amazing
