"Unexpected!"
I bought this book because I love Rachel Caine's other series. I was expecting something involving more paranormal type scenarios, and when I realized it wasn't full of vampires, ghosts, or weres, I thought I was going to be disappointed. But I was not at all! It is a good story and a good first book of the series. I will definitely check out the next in the series! :)
"I am Anxiously Awaiting the Next Revivalist Novel!"
I bought this title because the premise sounded interesting and to my mind would hold a few possible twists and turns. I have never consumed any of Rachel Caine's work before so it was a bit of a risk; however, I had the credit and was between series and no real burning titles on my list at that moment, simply bought it. I am glad I did. Being a fan of Zombie books and movies, this was certainly a twist on the concept. The plot moves along nicely and I have recommended to my wife as a good story she might enjoy.
This was my first experience with Julia Whelan and see did spectacularly in my opinion! I didn't struggle with tracking the characters as she voiced them. I will not hesitate to listen to any book when she is narrating.
My only regret is ‘Two Weeks Notice’ isn't due out until August 7th, uggghhhh! I dearly hope that Julia is already recording the audio version of this new tale.
I can only imagine where this next tale will lead Bryn Davis, but there are too many place this story can go just yet; given the challenges of living life as one of the Returne Addicts. Rachel you have pushed us into a whole wide world in this series starter for new genre character, Zombie Heroine, Bryn Davis!

"Interesting Concept"
What if dying wasn't the end? And that a corporation or government could bring you back and hold you hostage (giving new meaning to wage slave)?
As the first novel of a new series I am very interested to see where we go from this novel, it was very open ended at the end and it will be interesting to see what happens next.
"Obnoxious Main Character"
I was consistently annoyed at the main character throughout the book because she acts naïve, stupid and incompetent even though she is supposed to be a smart, tough ex-soldier.
She is unable to defend herself almost every time someone tries to beat her up or kill her. She knows that she is constantly being monitored, but keeps insisting that the two male protagonists tell her their personal life stories and classified/dangerous secrets and gets mad every time they do not comply. She “can’t workout” why having her baby sister stay at her apartment while someone is trying to kill her would be a “security breach.” She does all this while wallowing in self-pity most of the book.
"PERFECT!!"
This book is GREAT, granted I am only 2hrs into it... But it usually takes a while to really get me 'hooked'. Not this time. I am SO excited for this new series. I loved the Morganville series but couldn't get into my last purchase from her "Undone". So, I am excited and felt the need to SHARE!
Also, LOVE the narrator, she is one of my faves too.
