New York Times best-selling author Robyn Carr’s Virgin River novels are beloved by countless fans. Since Marcie Sullivan’s Iraq War-veteran husband died, she’s been unable to move forward. She decides to seek out Ian Buchanan—the man who disappeared after saving her husband’s life four years earlier. Then when Marcie nearly dies and Ian saves her, the couple’s relationship deepens.

"Enjoyable"
I have enjoyed every book in the series. For me, each story took my interest from the beginning and kept it until the end. It's nice to come home after work and look forward to plugging in the iPod and escaping to Virgin River.
"What a lovely story!"
I highly recommend this book to those who have loved the first three books in the Virgin River series. Whilst they are woven into the story, this book digresses from the main characters introduced across the first books in the series and focuses on the trials and growing relationship of Ian and Marcie. The story is beautifully and realistically staged and as always, Therese Plummer's narration is magnificent.
This book compares favorably to all the other books in the Virgin River series.
Therese Plummer makes you believe in the characters she portrays. My father, whom I introduced to the series, believed the characters were in fact voiced by different actors. Therese is, by far, the best voice actor I have heard and this performance is at least equal to her best.
All Virgin River books make me laugh at various points throughout the stories, and this book is no different. The comments and reactions of various characters are both believable and elicit emotion from the listener.
Fabulous. Addictive 5 star listen which takes me from my own hectic and sometimes troubling life to a place where characters know how to treat each other with respect, love and understanding. Highly recommended.
"Excellent!"
Great plot and character development. I have enjoyed many other books by Robyn Carr and this one did not disapoint.
I am a 43 year old mother of 4, I have a great husband and I am a nurse. I love to spend time with my family and ride atv's. Romance and humerous books are my favorite and I am currently listening to a lot of amish romance books.
"loved it!"
I always love the way the "community" always comes together and makes everyone feel welcome.
I like the setting of the books about virgin river and all the characters.
Yes I have and she is always great!
Christmas in the mountains
"My first in the series"
I absolutly love all of her performances and wish that all My fav authors could have her as their person!
I first read this book a few years ago in paperback, it was the first in the series that I had read and it got me hooked. I have read everything in this series since and now own them all in audio version. Keep them coming Mrs.Carr.
Would also love to see some of her older works come to audio!!!!

"Virgin River Yes Please"
These books are great I have listened to all of them once I heard Virgin River I had to have more until I got to book 17. The narrator Therese Plummer did a great job Mens voices and womens voices were fantastic. After you finish listening to the series you will know where everyone lives. Thank you Robyn Carr for a wonderful story line.
You must take the time to listen. Five stars all round.
"Got me hooked on series again!"
Yes, after 5 books in this series... this one reeled me back in. End is predictable, but story line is very different, but still keeping us up with old characters.
When Ian is singing at Christmas tree.
Marcie
No, but I listen sporadically during my day anyway..
so worth it!! A feel good book, not just for Christmas time!
I love books! Audiobooks take stories to the next level. I'm obsessed with Audible and will try to rate all of my books. Happy Listening! ;)
"Chicken soup for my ears..."
Being a girl from the Caribbean I found this book fascinating! Why? The descriptions of the rugged lifestyle of the mountains which was new for me. Living with no electricity nor running water, having to walk outside the house through several feet of snow to go to the outhouse (bathroom?) and then having to face wild animals or freeze to death. I though that was really interesting and made me appreciate the 80 degree temperature I have all year round.
The romance is just what you come to expect from Robyn Carr, amazing, perfect, wonderful. Marcie is a young widow that goes to Virgin River looking for Ian Buchanan. Ian and her husband were in the Army together and Ian saved her husband in Fallujah. Marcie's husband was severely injured and never recovered from them but Marcie is very grateful that she got three more years to see her husband and to say goodbye. Ian apparently suffered some serious post traumatic stress and went to live alone in the mountains.
Marcie just wanted to say Thank You to Ian and give him some baseball cards that her husband left. And that visit turned into a journey for both main characters that turned into a beautiful love story. This book can be read as a stand alone book but try to listen to the series in order because it is definitely worth it. Right now I'm on book 10 of this series and let me tell you that later on you will listen to much more about Marcie and Ian's life together.
Narration: PERFECT. Therese Plummer is the best narrator EVER. The combination of a Robyn Carr story with narration by Therese Plummer is like Chicken Soup for my ears, my mind and my heart. She even sings (Ian sings) at the end of the book and it's a very powerful scene. The first one that has actually made me cry in the whole series. If you are reading this review, then you must get it.
