Would-be Witch: A Southern Witch Novel

Would-be Witch lacks some of the polish that more seasoned writers have but
Kimberly Frost shows a lot of promise and a wonderful imagination. Mindy Seigfried didn't do the book justice with her monotone and stilted, first grade reading style. The listening experience would have greatly improved with a narrator who had more empathy for the story. Looking forward to seeing more novels by this author.

I absolutely loved this book. Its a romantic comedy with a wonderful love triangle. Tammy Jo is a spunky pastry chef who just happens to come from a lineage of witches. Unfortunately, she believes she's not a witch until she meets Bryn Lyons. He's on her family's "say no" list but its obvious that Tammy Jo wants to say yes as does Bryn. However, first Tammy Jo has to settle things with her protective ex husband who is still in love with her.

And I can't forget Mercutio, her adopted ocicat.

I truly enjoyed this book. It was funny, action packed, and just plain fun to listen to. Mandy does a great job portraying all the characters and really brought each one to life.
The one thing that upset me is that not all of the Southern Witch series are on audio.
There are 2 other books in this series in book form but not audio, and Frost has committed to write at least two more books in the series. I do a lot of commuting and it is difficult to "read" the books so I choose audio.
I guess my main complaint is when you have a good book or series and then you find out not all the books are available in the format you want. This happens a lot and I try to research before buying but sometimes you just gotta have that one book. This book was it for me. I hope that the rest of the series gets put to audio soon, I will buy them without thinking twice!

This was a cute story, a little love and a little mystery all tied up in an easy listen.

If you know any Texan boys, you will find this book hilarious! If you don't know any Texan boys, you will find this book enlightening :) In the Would-be Witch, Kimberly Frost brilliantly builds a paranormal world in an already weird place-small town Texas. Try this book. It is fun and the narrator is amazing!

A very interesting story. It gets better in the next two installments, unfortunately Audible doesn't have it yet. It's funny and full of action . Definitely worth a credit.
