Atlanta would be a nice place to live, if it weren't for the magic. When the magic is up, rogue mages cast their spells and monsters appear, while guns refuse to fire and cars fail to start. But then technology returns, and the magic recedes as unpredictably as it arose.
Kate Daniels works for the Order of Knights of Merciful Aid, officially as a liaison with the mercenary guild. Unofficially, she cleans up the paranormal problems no one else wants to handle - especially if they involve Atlanta's shapeshifting community. When she's called in to investigate a fight at the Steel Horse, a bar on the border between the territories of the shapeshifters and the necromancers, Kate quickly discovers that there's a new player in town. One who's been around for thousands of years - and who rode to war at the side of Kate's father. This foe may be too much even for Kate and Curren, the Beast Lord, to handle. Because this time Kate will be taking on family.

"GREAT BOOK, Perfect Narrator!"
Wow! What a great book! This series gets better and better.
One of the many things, I like about the Ilona Andrews writing team, is that even though this is book 4 in a 7 book series, it doesn't feel like a "bridge" book. When I finished reading "Magic Bleeds" I felt a satisfaction, that I haven't had lately when reading books from other series that I follow. "Magic Bleeds" is the whole enchilada. You get action, romance, and one of the best kick-butt heroines out there. It's a "I can't stop listening" even though it's one in the morning kinda book.
Yeah, it's that good.
Renee Raudman, is the perfect narrator for this series. Kudos, to whomever paired the Kate Daniel, Magic Series with Ms. Raudman. She gets the sarcastic humor of this book, and plays right into it. She is so good, that you forget that she is READING the book. Instead, it feels like she is TELLING you her story.
"Love these books"
From "Here Kitty, Kitty" to "Thank you", I have followed Kate Daniels. I just hope there is more to come.
"Intoxicating and addicting."
I cannot stress how wonderful this series is. So underpriced for it's value. (Not complaining) Magic Bleeds is a mixture of action, adventure, love, trust, and fantasy. I would recommend this book to anyone with a taste for Urban Fantasy as well as lovers of Charlaine Harris and Kim Harrison. This series has no competition. Ilona and Gordon...a.k.a. Ilona Andrews..you have done it again. Wonderful work and wonderful narrator. I give it a 6 out of a 5.
Like all of you, I love to read, but I am time-limited. Audible allows me to keep up with all my favorite authors. I am currently listening to 'Cold Days' by Jim Butcher.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you"
Thank you for getting this audiobook so quickly and thank you Tantor for releasing the audio and paper versions at the same time. I love this series and couldn't wait to listen to the next installment. I just finished listening to it and was entertained the entire way. Raudman is the perfect narrator for this series and the authors get better and better with every book. Magic Bleeds is funny and intelligent and Raudman just gets it :)
"The best in the series yet"
Usually as the series progress, the story gets repetative, relationships boring and stagnant. Kate Daniel series is an exception, it gets better and better. I love the way the authors developed Kate's relationship with other people... When we first met Kate, she was a total loner and now she has close friends who are more like a family to her. It has been gradual and believable relationship development and I enjoyed every minute of it.
This book is the best book, yet. As usual, Ren?e Raudman as Kate does a wonderful job. I cannot wait for the next book to come out!
"super good...."
even though I listen to the first 3 books a year or so ago, I was so happy to see 2 new one come out, I love Kate, and boy did she grow up between book 3 & 4, full of drama, lust, and exciectment, Kate kicked ass...thank you Ms. Andrews, great series...and I love Reene's voice as narrator, she nailed it...
get the whole series, its so worth it...
"Excellent book & narrator"
We’ve come to love Kate Daniels as a fierce fighter and loyal friend, willing to stand up for others even at her own expense. In Magic Bleeds, we finally witness true fireworks between Kate and the Beast Lord, Curran. And, yes, it is quite incredible that together they overcome impossible situations and vanquish seemingly much stronger foes, such as the millennia-old Erra in this book. To all the nay-sayers, I say “Pflghhtt!” Who cares when it is such great writing, with warm sarcasm and lots of action. I love this series. It is a lot of fun. And I love the narrator. In an audio book, a not-so-great narrator can take the shine off a good book. But a great narrator can really bring a good book to life. I’ve listened to this audio series more than once.
"amazing"
yet again i am totally amazed i love this series and love the the reader i can only imagine whats comming next and i cant wait i have hundreds of audio books and this series is one of my favs just enough romance action and magic to make it spectacular kudos on this one
Disciple of the written word and Audible fanatic. I am an Urban and Epic Fantasy Fan. I also enjoy some Paranormal Romance.
"So great! Don't miss this."
The more I read of Kate Daniels the more I want! I am a huge Jim Butcher fan and I rate Ilona Andrews with him.
Not all the mushy love stuff. Just a lot of action even the sexy scenes kick butt!
"the best of the series"
i like the love story of kate and curran. the challenges of their differences and personality conflicts. he wants her and fights for her, but in the end its her fight for her life to be with him that shows her commitment to him.
i love kate and curran, but i thought the aunt stood out the most. she was funny, mean, smart and ruthless. i love to hate her and the narrator did a good job portraying all aspects of her.
out of the series i enjoyed this one most because it finally explained why kate's father is so bad, it brought kate and curran together and the fight at the end was really good. my interest was captured from the first scene at the bar to the end with kate and curran deciding to make it work. i like the story with andrea and raphael, the aunt and even the dog was interesting. i really enjoyed this book of the series so far.
