Ravished

This is one of my all time favorite books by Amanda Quick so I was very excited when I saw that an audible book had been done. But I was fairly disappointed in the narrator. She saw ok for reading the text but I felt that she missed the mark when it came to the characters voices - especially the hero's voice. She made him sound condescending and unpleasant. Not at all how you would want a hero to sound.

I truly love Amanda Quick. And I am truly saddened by the fact that almost all of her books seem to be narrated by Anne Flosnik. The other disaster is Josephine Bailey (who narrates other AQ books)...*sigh*

The book - Great characters, fun predicaments, great romance!

The narration - almost painful to listen to (although I appreciate the British accent) because the voice was thready and her attempt at a masculine voice was a disaster. I actually could not finish listening to this book (although I have read it several times) due to the narration.

So, while I love Amanda Quick in hard copy, I will not be spending anymore money on her audiobooks.

I love Amanda Quick but she need to stop using Anne Flosnik as narrator

I love Amanda Quick and this book is one of my favorites but I have a hard time listening due to narrater's voice. When she does Gidion's lines I usually end up going to something else. At this rate I will never get to the end

Finally Anne Flosnick catches the right tone with Amanda Quick's Ravished! She was, at last, able to get the hero's proper attitude down! Yes haughty and cold (for good reason) but totally besotted and indulgent with the heroine from the very beginning, just as all of Quick's heroes are!

Quick has long been a favorite author for me so to see her earlier books coming out on audio was exciting. To hate Flosnick's interruption of the heroes personalities until Ravished was very disappointing. I haven't listened to the other two in the "R" series as I'm afraid of wasting more credits as I did with the three "S" series of books.

To say I was totally underwhelmed by Flosnick's narration of the three "S" series of books is an understatement. Flosnick ruined them for me with her harsh/cruel interpretation of the heroes. Quick has never written that type of a hero! They may be firm and try to remain cold in trying to come to grips with the feisty heroines but they are always besotted and indulgent right from the start. If I can't "hear" that classic Quick hero then the books are not worth listening to.

For me Ravished was finally narrated properly and I thoroughly enjoyed the listen.

The intelligence of the herione

Too hard to choose.

I love her voice. She does men believably well and sounds very authentic. I only buy audio by her if she is the only narrator.

The loyality and blind faith both characters had for one another.

This is a very well written book, it makes you laugh and feel what the characters feel. It pulls you in to the story and makes you a part of it!

I love Amanda Quick, I have always liked that her characters are not the beautiful people. Instead they are eccentric or maybe a little scary, and lets face it most of us are. ;) However, the female lead in the story is always getting into some sort of situation. I have no idea how she managed to survive her first 24 years without having her own personal hero. It seemed like she should be put into a padded cell just to keep her safe. That part aside, I really did love the interaction between the hero and heroine. They fit each other perfectly, complimenting one where the other may fall short. Overall, a charming book that I know I will listen to several more times.

Love scenes were great and the mystery throughout was very good. Narration was very good.

She did the voices and captured the mood of the characters, enjoyed that.

The reconciliations. The first time the characters spoke of their true feelings. The action scenes in the cave.

This book would make a good movie.

This period romance is a favorite of mine. The heroine is an amateur fossil hunter who has discovered thieves using her precious caves to store their loot. She calls on the local lord to clear out the villains so she can get on with her collecting.

The relationship between this quirky, on the shelf, rector's daughter and the peer of the realm who finds himself ruining her is a romp. Their love story unfolds as the master thief is tracked through the finest drawing rooms of the Ton.

My only problem with this recording is the narrator, Anne Flosnik. Her beautiful accent would appear to be perfect for this recording but she draws out random syllables in emphasis, and I found it distracting and annoying. It did not keep me from enjoying Amanda Quick's excellent story, however.

I have read this book over and over and I am glad now that I can listen to it just as much. I love her writing as Jayne Anne Krentz, Jayne Castle and Amanda Quick. All Amanda Quick novels are worth reading. Glad I found this one on sale so that I could get it even without a credit.
