"Does NOT disappoint!"
Hard to say, but Marc Thompson is the ultimate for Star Wars audiobooks.
Saba - simply because she's bad@$$!
He does them all amazingly - there's no one I can pick over the rest.
No - it's Star Wars - and so well done.
Ever since Thompson started on the series, I've made it a point to listen to every book - even though I buy the print version too. HE makes the story come alive. I just wish he would go back and do them ALL - especially the previously abridged versions. They'd be worth owning then. Case-in-point: Heir to the Empire. I've read it countless times, but the previous audiobook was next to complete garbage; abridged and sounding terrible.
I had even said 'I wish Marc would re-do it.'. It was a dream come true and an instant BUY when it was released. His command of the voices and story, along with the superior production and effects would mean that ANY Star Wars story done by this crew would instantly be on my Wish List!
"Fantastic!"
This book does a GREAT job wrapping up the 9-book story, and was very difficult to put down! Highly recommend the entire series!
Marc Thompson has to be one of the most engaging narrators I've listened to - he does a terrific job with the various voices, to the point that you can clearly tell who the myriad characters are simply by the voice he's given them. He is among the best narrators out there, and Star Wars is fortunate to have gotten him for this series.
Most definitely one of those books I wanted to listen to non-stop from start to finish!
"A fitting end to a wonderful story.."
The most memorable moment has to be Luke meeting with the spirits of Jacen and his wife Mara. I only wish the visit would have gone on a bit longer, but the story had to progress to Abeloth and the final confrontation.
Marc Thomson is always a versitile narrator. His voices and character inflections are some of the best Ive ever had the pleasure of listening to.
The End is comming...
Overall the final book of this series was an excellent read. The story arcs of both Ben and Vestara kept me on edge to the very end, the eventual closing of the story left room for a Luke-Mara connection or a whole new adversary to combat. Allana as a character is growing in her own right and her beyond her years wisdom will make interesting planting ground for future books. Luke, Han, Leia always seem to survive the worst events in the star wars universe but I've noticed in this book a shift from the
"exciding battle. a well done reading."
The fast past battle and many enjoyable characters makes it a nice story.
The piecing together of the final battle was epic.
The story was very rich and the performance worth lisoning to.
I liked the hon and laya addition to the story.
Can't wait to see if there will be another book to the series.
I love reading but have found that listening to the books is great when I am to busy to read. I love animals and try to keep busy with friends and family.
"I enjoyed the story of Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi"
I have recommended thiApocalypse to my brother in Ohio who loves audio books due to his eye sight issues.
The discription of the fight at the end was great and very memmorible and loved the discriptions of the characters.
My favorite sceen was when Ben was trying to get his girlfriend on the ship and she ran.
When Allana came out with her red hair to show the world who she was and that she was not ashamed of it.
I cannot wait for the next book that comes out.
"Good overall story"
I loves Vestara's story. I also loved the sacrifice of Basil Warv.
The bringing the Sith back to the universe in number.
Elana Solo
Coruscant burns in the fires of chaos
I still don't like the "Gods" that were in the Clone Wars series and Anakin's story therein.
"Can't wait for the next one!"
I felt like to book had enough closer to constitute an end but still so much left to be completed. I had heard a rumor about pulling the next three books after Disney bought the franchise, and if that is true I am going to be VERY disappointed. Overall this was a wonderful piece of the story and I certainly hope it is not the last.
"Action packed finish, but some details left hangin"
Action, Endurance, Entertaining
I loved how finally the Jedi are victorious against Abeloth and the Sith. Luke had defeated her many times during the series, but she kept coming back. It is good to have her finished off.
He is wonderful as always.
No.
I really enjoyed the ending to the series, but there were some details that were just left kind of hanging. I feel they should have fleshed out more of why Abeloth is the way she is. You learn her backstory, but her backstory is really short. Also a new sith is introduced at the end, and you don't even learn his name even though he fights alongside Luke at one point. I just feel that the book just ended abruptly and did not flesh out some details I still had questions about. But it was a great listen and i loved the book still.
"Great!"
I thoroughly enjoyed the entire Fate of the Jedi series. Marc Thompson is a king among many great performers. If you love the Star Wars saga, you will love this series, too.
Yes. The series continues with the same characters you knew and loved, and introduces a few more you come to really like and love. The definition of the characters, as they've aged, is also a sweet continuation of the many story lines. The only thing I didn't like was there was only nine books. I could have gone on for another two or three easy.
Not until this series. I would put him up in my top three favorites.
The very end was touching.
"Best Fate of the Jedi yet"
All I have been listen to so far is Star Wars books and I started listening first with Fate of the Jedi series. Best story told so far from the Fate of the Jedi series and will be looking for more story's written by this author. The narrator, Marc Thompson is brilliant as usual with his dynamic character voices. Thompson has a special way of bringing the story to life inside ones head. The story was overall action packed from chapter one to the end. It did created some inconsistencies from the other books but it also sealed up a lot of holes in other areas of the story. Overall it is a must listen.
The forbidden love of Luke's son, Ben Skywalker and the Sith girl Vistara Kia that was doomed from the beginning.
The narrator, Marc Thompson is brilliant as usual with his dynamic character voices. Thompson has a special way of bringing the story to life inside my head. My favorite character performed by Thompson has to be Hon Solo even though he captured the voice mannerisms of all the main characters, Luke, Lando, etc.
Most definitely
