Number-one best-selling author Janet Evanovich teams up with award-winning author Dorien Kelly to deliver a sparkling novel of romantic suspense, small-town antics, secretive sabotage, and lots and lots of beer.
Kate Appleton needs a job. Her husband has left her, she's been fired from her position as a magazine editor, and the only place she wants to go is to her parents' summer house, The Nutshell, in Keene's Harbor, Michigan. Kate's plan is to turn The Nutshell into a Bed and Breakfast. Problem is, she needs cash, and the only job she can land is less than savory.
Matt Culhane wants Kate to spy on his brewery employees. Someone has been sabotaging his company, and Kate is just new enough in town that she can insert herself into Culhane's business and snoop around for him. If Kate finds the culprit, Matt will pay her a $20,000 bonus. Needless to say, Kate is highly motivated. But several problems present themselves. Kate despises beer. No one seems to trust her. And she is falling hard for her boss. Can these two smoke out a saboteur, save Kate's family home, and keep a killer from closing in... all while resisting their undeniable attraction to one another?
Filled with humor, heart, and loveable characters, Love in a Nutshell is delicious fun.

"Great!"
Yes!! I Enjoyed this book! It had a really cute story with likeable characters! It had some of Janet usual humor with a strong female lead and a sexy guy!
Yes! I love her acting when she reads! She does a great job! I love her when she reads Stephanie plum too!
Beer, Sexiness, and Mystery ;)
"Cute story, hard to listen"
The story was fun, the characters likeable, nice summer read... but I wish I had purchased the actual book. I found the narrator's delivery very annoying. Okay, now I'm being picky, but I found her to be too breathy, drawing out the last syllable of the last word of most every sentence. I couldn't get past it.
"Typical Evanovich"
It moved along and was simple and relaxing.
She is the best!! The way she changes her voices for the different characters makes listening enjoyable and not mundane. I listen while driving so monotone voices would put me to sleep. She is constantly changing the voices.
"Like an Ice Cream Sundae"
Just like an ice cream sundae, which is yummy to taste but not very nutritious, this book is just fun. It's like a brain vacation! If you're looking for something deep and challenging, this is not the book for you! I enjoyed the characters and the story was good. I really like the narrator. I'm used to her in the Stephanie Plum novels. She's great! Again, if you're looking for dessert, get this book and have fun!
"Okay but could have been made better by the reader"
Fun, Light, Easy story line.
The relationship between the two main characters.
The relationship between the lead female character and her family. Especially her Mother.
I think that I would have appreciated the female lead character more if she had been read with a bit more grit in her words. I would have liked for her to have sounded more self assured. I guess I was looking for a Stephanie Plum type. This character almost had it, just not quite.

"not so great"
I finished it but my mind often wondered when listening I was glad when I finished and could start something new and more interesting
"Great, easy listen for a long drive!"
Janet Evanovich is always a favorite when I have a long drive. She is fun and entertaining with just enough suspense that you can concentrate. But, the really kicker is Lorelei King who does most of Janet's books and she is terrific. Her inflections and interpretations of the books are spot on! Pick one up and listen...they are also great on walks and you will walk a little longer because you will want to listen longer...have fun!
Of course! I walk and drive a lot and they are fun and entertaining!
Kate - has a great outlook on herself and her situation.
No...that's what's nice for driving or walking.
"Very enjoyable read"
Humor and love classic Evanovich
Listened on a road trip with a girlfriend we laughed out loud making the miles go by faster.
"Fun and Cute Audio Chickflick"
The story line is pretty typical, you know from the very beginning how the book is going to end and who is going to fall in love with who, but the road to the end is filled with lots of comedy and some mild suspense. Janet Evanovich makes me laugh! I listen to her while I walk and she makes the time and the miles fly by. Dorien Kelly had very good voice and intention for each character.
"Love Janet's wit and sense of humor"
Yes. I love hearing Lorelei King read a book. She is so into her work.
