Upon her father's death, beautiful, headstrong Lady Clare knew that she must wed, for the protection of the Isle of Desire now fell to her. Yet when her guardian's choice of prospective husband rode through her castle gates, she felt utterly betrayed. All sinewy muscle and savage steel, Sir Gareth of Wyckmere was not the poet she'd requested but a fearsome knight whose only interest was in war.
Legions of robbers had fallen beneath the Hellhound of Wyckmere's sword, and now this bold warrior was certain that he could tame one willful wife. Yet even Gareth could not deter Lady Clare from trying to mold him into her ideal...until their clash of wills ignited a passion that set them both aflame...and a treacherous plot put their lives in deadly peril.

"Excellent! Amanda Quick at her best!"
I love these stories, it is true to her formula and Anne Flosnik is amazing. The story is sweet and an easy listen. As usual it leaves you waiting for the next book of its style.
"She's Back!"
I used to think no one could write a sizzling love scene the way Amanda Quick did, but had given up on her as her books seemed to be getting quite "tepid". She proved me wrong with this one. The story line is predictable, but isn't that what we want from these types of romance novels? Keep em coming Amanda!
I mostly read paranormal romance books.
"My favorite Amanda Quick book!"
I have read/listened to several Amanda Quick books and always enjoy them. This is is my favorite so far. I love both of the characters and the position they find themselves in. The story line was great and kept my attention. I didn't want to stop listening and finished the book in a day and a half.
The narration was good. Flosnik has done several books I have listened too and generally does a very good job. Sometimes she lays on the drama a little heavy, but I would much rather have that than a flat performance. This was one of her best performances.
"One of my favorite Amanda Quick's novels"
Yes, because it always make me smile
When Claire dumped chicken's blood all over the bed
She does a good job differentiating, but she needs to work on her male voices
It always make me laugh or at least smile
I love Amanda Quicks earlier books
"Awesome historical romance"
Yes, It's a very nice love story with some suspense and mystery added.
The blood on the sheets.
Yes, I like her narration.
Yes.
Would make a good movie or mini series.
"Probably a better read than listen"
I could not get into this audio book as the narrator was the most irritating I have ever heard. I feel I would have enjoyed reading the book, but the thought of that grating, over-exaggreated voice completely turned me off of the book entirely. I will definitely remember the name of Anne Flosnik and make sure I never purchase anything narrated by her again.
"Overall, terrible"
This was my first audible download. I have been listening to audiobooks for years so I am not new to the game. This reader was irritating. Make sure you listen to a sample so you can see if it is for you. But I think this story is more like a Harlequin romance and not very deep or intriguing.
