"Nate The Great Vol. 1"
My kindergartners loved the first and second collection of Nate The Great! They want more, but there were no more volumes to download onto my iPod. I think they also liked the jazzy music at the beginning of the audiobook. I play these stories during their rest time. We've listened to both collections at least 5 or more times.
"Nate the Great is indeed great!"
My son's love the Nate the Great series. John Lavelle is an excellent narrator and well suited as the voice of Nate. Very entertaining for the family too. I'm looking forward to more audio versions of the Nate the Great series.
"Entertaining for my preschooler"
My three year old son loves these stories (we also have Nate the Great Volume 4). He requests to listen to them every time we are in the car. My 5 year old son likes them, too, but started to get bored and needed the next level up (Boxcar Children Mysteries, A to Z Mysteries). Keep in mind that these books were written in the 70's, so they call their rainboots "rubbers" which threw me off the first time I heard Nate say it!
I really like the narrator - he is good about switching up voices for different characters
"Another winner for young kids"
My 3.5 year old loves these stories (and those in volume 2) and requests them often. The level is a little high for her and it took a few listenings - and many questions - before she "got" some of the stories, but they kept her attention and kept her asking. I'd recommend these for a kid around her age if they were avid audiobook listeners or for a kid a year or so older if they weren't already audiobook fans.
As mentioned by another reviewer, the music between stories is also a big hit.
