Rose Madder

Good story but there are interludes of loud brash music which is supposed to be background music but drowns out the reader and is just horrible. The female reader is really good but Stephen King does not fit in the narration. It would have been better with just the female narrator. The story gets intense, weird and empowering (for women at least). A good display of how reality can create a madness in a person.

This book is GREAT! Had a really hard time turning it STOPPING the book!!

I loved the intermingling of Blair Brown and Stephen King as narrators. I am more difficult to please when novels contain ultradimensional elements, but the balance between reality and dreamworld worked for me. One among many that are waiting for "The Stand" on audible....

Behind the Dark tower and the Shining.. this is my favorite King book. I was hooked all the way through.

The reader was robbed. She did an excellent job narrating this novel and the producer ruined it. The first and most troublesome issue is there are breaks in the MP3 file where bits of narration or dialogue are missing. Never a lot, but when you're hanging on every word a missing sentence or two is an aggravation you don't want to deal with. I reloaded this file and even switched MP3 players so I know the problem isn't to do with my equipment. Second: I don't mind music at the beginning of the story or even between every chapter but it should not be played over the narration especially at a volume that makes it impossible hear what the reader is saying and when the music is high pitched and shrieking. I kept trying to turn the volume up to hear the narration and having to yank my head phones off before the awful music blew out my ear drums. It's not just once or twice either, it's every single chapter. This is a terrible shame.

A wonderful book I would recommend to almost anyone. It is not as weird as some Steven King books I have read but has just enough weirdness (if that is a word) to make it great!!!! I found myself "taking the long way" in my car just so I could listen to more. I hate to drive (but spend allot of time on the road) and this book made me look forward to driving. Definitely worth the credit and would even be worth buying if you don't have any credits built up!!!!

A good story by one of my favorite authors. The dual narration worked well with Blair Brown doing an excellent job and King average as a narrator, switching back and forth really worked with the story. I could have done without the music which was very annoying. I also enjoyed the "real" parts of the story more than the "fantasy" and thought the ending was a little slow; but definitely worth a listen.

LOVED IT !!!!! My new fav from the King . Right up there with the Dome and Dark Tower.

I love this book, but the reading of this is what has made me unable to put my ipod down. Blair Brown has such a melodious ad beautiful voice, and of course, we all love when Stephen King reads his own work. It's love!

It was like discovering this book all over again!

Kings book's can't & shouldnt be compared to others they are stand alone,brilliant scifi by a master storyteller

Stephen King's potrayal of "Norman" was outstanding
