You can never go home again
Joanne Walker has survived an encounter with the Master at great personal cost, but now her father is missing - stolen from the timeline. She must finally return to North Carolina to find him - and to meet Aidan, the son she left behind long ago.
That would be enough for any shaman to face, but Joanne's beloved Appalachians are being torn apart by an evil reaching forward from the distant past. Anything that gets in its way becomes tainted - or worse.
And Aidan has gotten in the way.
Only by calling on every aspect of her shamanic powers can Joanne pull the past apart and weave a better future. It will take everything she has - and more.
Unless she can turn back time…

Love Star Trek
"Finally MORRISON!"
Wow this series just gets better and better.I just loved it.
Continuing directly from the 7th book, Joanne directly goes from her fight in Ireland straight to North Carolina. This time following her father's heritage and her own past. It has time traveling, zombies, flying cars, and ancestor sprits... If you don't know the series, people are just going to scratch their head with that description. And for the first time I am going to put this into my "romance shelf"!
Although the series is published by Harlequin (well Luna), the stories are never quite romantic or cannot be categorized as romance. But in this 8th book it finally has romance worth mentioning. Well it's not as if there were no men in Joanne's life. I admit there were Thor and of course Cayote. Well, this time it's with the very very long awaited MORRISON!! So of course it's different and special. In any case I missed him very much in the previous book so I was very happy he was with Joanne all through the book. On the other hand no Garry, he is left in Ireland. I guess though the next book will be with him. I just bought No Dominion so that will probably tie it up to the end of this book I'm hoping.
Another satisfying read and again it's going to be agony waiting for the next book!!
And of course another great narration by Gabra Zackman! She does "Walker-ism" soooo well.

"Still the best writer - EVER"
Absolutely wonderful. Ms. Murphy writes the most amazing, beautiful story of life, death, endings and beginnings. The past and the present the living and the dead become one, in a way that breaks your heart and uplifts your soul. Still my favourite author ever, love her and her writing even more than ever before. Thank you, 's Murphy, for a beautiful, uplifting story.
I have been happily married for 17 years, I have 3 children (12, 14, & 16), and 2 dogs. I am currently working on a 2nd degree. Life is chaotic and stressful, but I wouldn't change it. I am blessed and enjoying my life.
"Why all the whining?"
Murphy is an automatic download. I wait anxiously for an entire year for each new book. I have really liked this series so far. Okay I have only listened to the first part of this book (3 hours in). I am definitely going to make myself listen to the rest of this book. At this point, what is getting on my nerves is the fact that EVERYTHING is her fault. This is all boiling down to her whining. Why??? Yes, I have listened to every book but come on...at this point she doesn't seem to be a very strong heroine she is just a whiny, woe is me type of heroine. I am antsy because I want to yell, buck up!!!!! I expected better of you! I am hoping it gets better :( I am not sure if Audible will allow me to revise this if it gets better, but I will try.
Addicted to books, especially audiobooks. Read lots and prosper!
"Grab on and hang on tight for this ride! Woohoo!!"
Serious love for the Walker series - the stories and adventures. The main character and the all the side character's. Who doesn't adore Gary and Morrison? This story does after all have more Morrison in it - fan girl SQUEE here! About time. It was exciting and sweet at times. It was also really awesome to have Joanne growing along with her story and resolving some issues and having other Ah-hah moments too. Though a huge fan of the series, I thought this one was a stand out and am sad to think the next book is the last in the series. *sob* The narration was as excellent as always.
Say Audible - we do need to have Gary's story, No Dominion, also added to our audiobook collection. Though we need another narrator for his story, Someone with some age to his voice, but can also impart vitality and joy for life.
If you haven't read the series yet - you are so missing out - start the adventure with Urban Shaman and rock it. So worth it.
"The best so far of all Walker Book"
I love Joanne Walker. She is amazing. The imagination C E gives to her character is amazing.
I love that Joanne and Mike Morris finally got together and that she finally made peace with her dad. I love that we finally got to meet Aiden, her son. It was the best book of the Walker series so far.
Ada - Aiden adopted mother.
Yes
I hope this is not the last Walker book.
"JoAnne Walkingsticks her foot in it again!!"
I am glad that these loose ends in Jo's life were finally brought to light and put to bed. This book did feel a bit contrived. I loved Morrison in this book, he is perfect for Jo.
How can you not love Petite doing a super Dukes of Hazard? The cliff hanger was awesome, well done, and a perfect hook into the next book.
I would say that putting to rest some of the daddy issues, and the issues of the twins might make Jo a little less difficult to deal with in the future. These issues, while bound to who she is and fundamental in her growth were becoming a bit of an EMO element in the story line.
I have always enjoyed C.E. Murphy's writing in this series. I enjoy her colorful and sometimes outrageous characters. She does a beautiful job of bringing people like Jo's son and Billy who some people's prejudice might make them cringe into beautiful light and makes it hard for even the most closed minded to dislike. Beautifully done!!
Are you kidding me? I am a HUGE Gabra Zackman fan. I often will pick books based purely on her narration! Nothing wrong with her performance!
I really dislike these we're going to make you fill out a form reviews. I have been doing these reviews since 2000 and would love to say what I want about a book not what you want to hear.
