When Cameron MacAlpin learns the identity of the golden beauty tossed before him as a debt payment, he can't believe his fortune! For cat-eyed Avery Murray is the perfect weapon to use against Payton Murray - Avery's brother - who dishonored Cameron's own sister. Yet his plan to deliver the same insult and avenge his clan is thwarted by spirited Avery herself, who tempts him to forget everything but the passion coursing through his blood. Still, a knight of the Highlands owes his allegiance to his clan before all else - even his heart.
Avery is outraged at her captor's accusations against her brother. Though he makes it no secret that he intends to use her to avenge his sister's lost honor, he adds to her fury by vowing to take her by seduction, rather than force. Worse, she knows deep down that this virile knight stirs her as no other man ever has. Courageously, passionately, she gives him freely what he vows to take - her body and her heart - knowing that she could lose all on the chance of everlasting love.

"Hannah Howell's legion of fans will delight in yet another installment of her Highland series. Funny, yet heart-warming and poignant, Highland Knight is just the story for an armchair vacation into days of yore where knights were bold and lassies sassy." (Romantic Times)

"ANOTHER BRILLIANT MEDIEVAL MYSTERY UNFOLDS"
Firstly, I've somehow listened to the series out of order as I've missed out books 2 and 3 but I can't see it matters so, my point is, this could easily be a stand alone listen.
I'm a real sucker for the handsome, hunky, kilt wearing, claymore wielding, historical Highland warrior who has a quest to fulfil or a wrong to put right - so call me shallow and count me in - and luckily for me this has it all. Unfortunately Highlander Laird Cameron didn't bargain to like the high spirited Avery, his hostage, so much and he soon trust, wants, needs and desires her and they spent many sex filled nights during the journey back to Scotland from France sharing more than just his tent.
There are tense times in the beginning as DeVeaux and his army want Avery back so there's battles, and high jinks as they try to outwit him. The hours are filled with some funny, likeable and charming characters who all get embroiled in this adventurous tale that has passion, friendships, sex, laughs, plot twists, desire and heartbreak as, in the end, Cameron must choose between his duty or his love.
Worth a credit? Yes, and if you can, invest in the whole of the Murray Clan's romantic adventures - I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Historical romance junkie. Who doesn't love romance?
"Great story, poor narrator"
Love, intrigue, betrayal and a Highland Laird, great story and well written but I can't get past the narration. It's odd but because Angela Dawe does great voices that are very believable but the in between parts were annoying. It was an odd combination of good and bad. I think if it doesn't bother you, you will be ok.
I love to read all genres of books, but love my historical romances!!!
""Not worth the credit""
I will avoid any books narrated by Angela Dawe.
Story was very cute, but the narrator was horrible!
Wife to sometimes neglected husband (due to listening to audiobooks) and mother to adult children. I am a relatively recent avid reader/listener, only really starting to read for pleasure a few years ago but now am thoroughly addicted.
"One of my favorite series!"
I really love this series and anxiously await more books to follow. I have to say that this is the best book thus far. Angela Dawe is also one of my favorite narrators and did a fabulous job!
"LOVE THE HIGHLANDERS!!!!"
The Murray family books are amazing.. But book 5 is one of my favorite in the series..Funny with strong smart mouth women.. The narrator voice is clear and sexy .. Cant wait for book number 6
"Another great addition to the series!"
This is a very good series. I really like how the author connected things in this book to others in her series. Angela Dawe is a very good narrator for this kind of story. The story flowed well and kept me interested to the end. I hope there are more in this series to come the Murry family is wonderful.

"Don't ever try to make plans ....."
I really enjoyed this well rounded story. It had intrigue, lots of humor, and during the first quarter, danger. Danger for the plans of each and every scheming character who was going to solve all their problems by "using" the others. Then what happens? LOVE.
Don't really care for the narrator's accent tho...
