"Great Investment Advice for Preserving Wealth"
This is a great book about a very simple strategy aimed at preserving wealth and making a reasonable inflation adjusted return. The strategy is very simple, but the detailed advice about how to implement it is very helpful. I found the arguments in favor of the strategy very compelling.
As an audiobook, it suffers in two respects. First, the book has a lot of tables, which the narrator just reads. Kind of mind-numbing. Second, the narrator is just not that good. His voice reminds me of Don Adams playing Maxwell Smart, for those of you old enough to remember.
Maybe better purchased for a Kindle or as a hard copy book.3 of 3 people found this review helpful -
"This book in audio format need to be removed"
What would have made The Permanent Portfolio better?The book is probably ok but the way the audio was compiled it is really unusable. When the narrator hits a chart it reads all the information in the chart. It goes on for 15 min or so on each chart. It is worthless as an audio book. Remove the charts and give us a pdf to see the charts.
What was most disappointing about Craig Rowland and J. M. Lawson ’s story?The reading of charts cell by cell.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?I quit listening to the book so I didn't finish. I am so sorry to have to complain about this book. I am going to ask for a refund. Sorry guys I'm sure the book is good. It is just the presentation layer that is bad.
