"Ridiculous"
This was the most ridiculous book I have ever read... or listened to. I couldn't get past the first few chapters. The writer obviously doesn't know how people normally interact with each other and I couldn't stand the narrator either. If I were the main vampire girl (who is very well trained in combat) and a human man (who is supposedly my enemy) suddenly reaches out to manhandle and inspect my teeth... I wouldn't just sit there and let him, I'd immediately respond with some kind of choke hold or defensive maneuver at the very least. No matter how hard I try, I just can't bring myself to believe that the characters would ever say the things they do.
"Predictible"
If you like a paranormal harlequin style novel this is a keeper. It's a bit predictable but ok if you just want to get lost for a few hours. The narrator has a great voice.
"Incredibly insulting"
The book was traditionally romantic with vampires and a lone handsome rugged man. But he said such stupid stuff that no man I have ever met thought or said (perhaps I have not met the thoughtful provoking men that deeply considered their feelings over such long long long periods of time). THe woman that led the vampires was easily led...I'd be embarrased to be a vampire
Why can't real life be like books?
"I feel like a fool for buying this one on sale."
the story is awful and the narration doesn't help, but it's the sound quality that really bugged me. It sounds like it was recorded in an oil drum.
“A book is the only place in which you can examine a fragile thought without breaking it, or explore an explosive idea without fear it will go off in your face. It is one of the few havens remaining where an individual's mind can get both provocation and privacy.”
"LOVED IT!"
Hooked me from the first word. From the arrogant extravagance of the vampire world above, to the gritty rough life of the werewolves who live below them. The plot and the charactures were dark and edgy and left you so eager to hear the next installment. Really liked the Narrator and that usually makes or breaks it for me - can't wait to get the next book!
"Book Review"
This book took awhile for me to get into, but it turned out to be a pretty good book. I like the characters, glad I stuck with it until the end.
"Just Great"
This is A great read I loved it so i wanted to buy book 2 in the set But its not here only books 1 & 6
"Awesome Vampire and Werewolf saga"
This was a bargain purchase and I LOVED it. A good plot and characters you can relate to if you are a vampire, werewolf or human!
"A good read"
If you've made it to number 6 in the series, than you know what to expect. If you are just beginning, I suggest starting at book one. I happen to truly enjoy the Crimson city series. I love the characters, flaws and all. I suppose redeeming the fallen never gets old. I’m eager for the next installment.
"Mixed messages"
To my tastes, the heroine is TDTL and the flawed hero seems not far behind her. The author tries to insert every societal cliche that she's ever heard of into this book. For me, it was a waste of time and money, to say nothing of an insult to the readers' intelligence.
