But soon after Meg goes head-to-head with egomaniacal series star Tamerlaine Wynncliffe-Jones, the "Queen B" turns up brutally murdered. Now, with Michael in the running as prime suspect, Meg will go up against an all-star cast of not-even-innocent parties, hidden identities, and buried motives. And she'll cross swords with a deviously obsessed murderer determined to write her out of this picture for good.

"When you need a distraction and a laugh..."
Donna Andrews mysteries are perfect for getting away from it all. They seem somewhat silly on the surface, the opposite of Agatha Christie books which I love too, but they have serious crimes going on. They make you think about yourself, your relationships and the strangers around you. You'll laugh especially when you realize you've had the same thoughts as her characters. And Meg, the heroine, is a strong, capable young woman, led by her heart and her mind but not fashion. You'll enjoy how she thinks for herself and supports others to do the same. These are fun books, quick to read/listen and perfect for taking some time off.
"Quirky Fun"
Parrots, Monkeys, Murder - Oh My! I completely enjoyed this novel. The dialogue is fun and the characters are quirky and enjoyable. This is definitely a 'repeater'. The cast of suspects are so nicely defined, I can picture each of them beautifully. The 'sane' Meg Langslow is, as always, surrounded by such unique individuals that each turn of the 'page' is a joy. Even the critter characters contribute to the fun - or should I say insanity. The culprit is evident - but then again - maybe it's....or even.... listen and see!
"I love this series"
I have read the complete Meg Langlow series and am disaapointed that Audible is not carrying all of the books in the series. In fact, the two books carried by Audible are probably my two least favorite in the series. Having said that, they are still excellent "reads". After reading the paperbacks first, I usually have a hard time adjusting to the voices of the narrator. However, Bernadette Dunne did an excellent job. The story takes place at a science fiction convention, along with live parrots, monkeys and tigers - oh my! Imagine a diva actress, fans dressed in costume, an evil little dog, a murder and chaos of the most hilarious nature. If you like to laugh out loud, I recommend this book!
"nice and quirky"
Fun little story. Good Quirky Characters. The mystery wasn't bad and there was a twist at the end.
"Very Enjoyable Light Entertainment"
Loved the narrator! Well worth the listen! Story is not the strongest, but characters were interesting.
