This book is based on Proverbs 31:10: "An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels." Thousands of women have already discovered the worth of this volume and testify to lives and marriages changed because of a commitment to the principles presented here. If this is a commitment you have made, or want to make, The Excellent Wife answers the difficult questions facing you today.

"Sounded too clinical and unfeeling"
While I agree with the premise of this book and truly believe most of her teachings are based on what God intended for husbands and wives, I found her verbage and tone to read (or listen) more like a 1950's etiquette book. I finished about 3/4 of the book and finally put it down.
"Those who have ears to hear...."
This book helped me become a more excellent wife in practical ways. I like books like this one that give you actual scripture, then apply it to multiple situations that you may deal with.
The reader is very professional. An easy listen.
If you have an open heart, this book can teach you a lot. I have listened to it at least three times. I find something new every time, and it deepens my commitment to my husband and to Christ. This book is real spiritual food--not easy to swallow, but very filling.
"Hard to get through"
I thought this book would never end. The narrator is ok. The subject matter is relevant. There are so many nearly constant Bible citations that's it's hard to get into a good flow with the content. The author overuses the word "reproof", I swear I never want to hear that word again after listening to this book. I did learn some new ways to look at situations and I was definitely convicted a few times. I doubt I will ever listen to this book again, however. It is so dry. For a better read on this subject, get "when a woman inspires her husband" on amazon.
"great book"
If you are looking for a book to help you understand what the Bible say's about how to become a good Christian wife this is a must listen to. I really enjoyed this book.
"a hard read"
While purchasing this book, I was under the impression that I would find a methodology/ strategy for becoming a real world, 21st century, Proverbs 31 woman. I was sadly disappointed.
