The exciting follow-up to New York Times #1 best-selling author Patricia Briggs' Masques features the further adventures of the shapeshifting mercenary Aralorn.
Aralorn's dangerous existence has taken her far from her aristocratic roots and kept her from her homeland for more than a decade. Now, she must return home to mourn the death of her father, the Lyon of Lambshold. But when Aralorn and her companion Wolf arrive, they discover that home is gone forever and they must take on an old enemy more sinister than they ever could have imagined.
Katherine Kellgren, the voice of Masques and one of Audible's favorite narrators, returns to take listeners on this new adventure.

"Excellent listen that left me longing for the next"
I just finished this book and Masques. The two main characters were easy to like and had significant depth. The "bad guy" was quite evil with out being over the top. I found it difficult to turn off either book which my family loves as I cook much more elaborate meals just to have an excuse to listen. It has been many weeks since I last found a book that would entice me to make homemade applesauce.
As was said by the other reviewer, I truly hope the author picks this series back up and writes at least a couple more.
"Even better than Masques!"
I really like this series. I would like more. I like the characters and I hope Patricia picks this one back up and gives us a few more books!
"Another winner by Patricia Briggs!"
Loved this book - I miss Aralorn and Wolf already! I hope she'll write more about them. I don't listen to too many audio books over and over, but I do listen to Patrica Briggs' books over and over. Her characters are so well rounded, so full of life. If you like magical fantasy type books, this one won't disappoint.
I am married with a teenage son and run my own business. As I am visually impaired, audio books are my life.
"Didn't like the narration"
I think it will be a good story for some but it didn't do it for me and I think it had something to do with the narration. I kept falling asleep on it and the story just didn't keep me interested. I've listened to a couple of the other ones in the series and enjoyed them enough but not this one.
