Dick Cheney and Lewis Black at the Radio and Television Correspondents' Dinner

You know it was a bad night at the Press Club when Dick Cheney is funnier than Lewis Black. Black totally chokes on this one. I think Bush was supposed to be there, but actual events stopped him.

Bottom line, waste of time for Lewis Black fans. Cheney fans will love it, but why on earth would someone be a Cheney fan?

Sorry , Lewis -- not your best night. First, one must listen to Cheney attempting to be funny, and then drone on about the recently dead Pope. Then Lewis gets on and does most of his talking about what a difficult audience this is. Just not worth listening to. Soon after this, he recorded his performance at Carnegie Hall, and refers back to this night in Washington, and is mush funnier and more interesting. Buy "Carnegie Hall" instead!

Having heard a lot of Lewis Black's standups, he mentions this dinner a few times. I wanted to hear it just to see exactly how it went down. It sounded as awkward as I expected, with Lewis's usual personality not really coming through.

I'm surprised Cheney had a sense of humor. Although it was nice to see more of the human side of him as opposed to the standard view he has with many people.

This was a surprising disappointment from Lewis Black. He seemed clearly out of his element and nervous beyond performing well. Cheney is just an ass.

Dick Cheney was good, funny and at the same time respectful and pleasant. But when Lewis Black continued in the second half, it became boring, unpleasant and far from funny... Too bad that Cheney had to be on the same audio with Lewis Black...

I saw a hilarious and informative concert, as per the usual with Mr. Lewis Black, performed well after this annual Presidential roastfest. During the concert Mr. Black commented on this gig. I wondered, at that time, just how true to himself that presentation could have been, given the many insane "rules of engagement" for these people of sensitivity. Rest assured Lewis Black worked that room with his usual expertise and, although limited in words he could not use, left the room, and me, the listener, in laughter. Oh...Lewis Black also got a message across or two or three. If you had doubts, undoubt yourself and get this audio now! Splendid time is guaranteed for all.
