"The power of storytelling and ancient fables makes The Greatest Salesman in the World a classic for all intrigued by the world of business....Og Mandino's performance is even more poignant after hearing his introduction, in which this mild-voiced, world-famous motivational expert tells the tale of his own accomplishments through hard work and perseverance." "Inspiring!"
I found this book very inspiring and helpful in picking me up and helping me to stay focused to be the best that I can be,
"Not the greatest book in the world"
Looks like the author wondered "how do I write a book when all of my ideas contain in just one page? I know I'll write a dopy back story set in ancient times. I'll add some cliche religious undertones for respectability". I recommend passing on this one.
"The Greatest Audiobook in the World"
Beyond the biblical allegory that Og Mandino has so brilliantly portrayed is a book of surprisingly sound advice on business and life in general. The story is captivating and I found myself not being able to leave my car long after my commute was over.
The beauty of this story is its lasting effect on the reader. It is so motivational that I find it hard to not be moved to take action in the immediate aftermath. Exceptional narration and an even better story.. a true classic. Overall, a quick listen that you will in no way ever regret.. nor forget!
"The scrolls are very usefull"
Worth listening because of scrolls part. I think that the beginning and the end are too much religious for me...
MFT Intern, Indiana I enjoy the perks of technology and Audible as a daily commuter!
"A precious gem of wisdom"
Wisdom of Life
Erasmus, for his loyalty and steadfast character
Hmmm, well yes, but I would have preferred another narrator. I caught myself reacting to the brooklyn accent and letting it get in the way of my listening pleasure.
This little book reinforces what many of us already know, but often do not practice - mindfulness, presence and love.
I listened to this book after i had listened to the 5 languages of love by Garry Chapman, also available through Audible. Both provide very simple lessons in communicating with each other and offering ways in which we treat the Other. Chapman fails because he only provides his success stories. Some will certainly remark that comparing the two books is like apples to oranges, but of the two, I enjoyed this book, for its presentation, its affectation, its hope for humanity, and its simple way of providing a way in which to become the greatest salesperson in the world. Narration aside, its simplicity is a marvel and wonder to hear.
"Great encouragement for people in sales"
Already have two times
Richest man in Bablyon
Yes
Consistency
Read it to my children 15 years ago and glad I did. Made a positive impact on them along with richest man in Bablyon. During last 24 months have each of my three children now In Thirties lecture their friends about saving first at least 10% of income first.
I'm not much of a reader but I am a great listener. I like to listen to an audiobook before I decide its worth buying the book in print.
"Og Mandino's "Greatest Salesman in the World""
Og Mandino is great at telling a story and give meaning to every sentience. This audio book may be old but its message is as good today as it was in the passed. It inspires me every morning I'm Glad I found it.
Picky reader
"Great book, narrator's accent distracting."
It took me a minute to even realize that this book was being narrated in English at first. Then another minute to place the accent, and I'm FROM Boston. While Mandino is a good narrator as far as the voices of the characters and inflections of the words, even after listening to the book for an hour I still found the accent distracting and at times even hard to understand. The producer probably would have done better to step in and suggest an actor do the reading of this selection. Great book, but I would suggest finding a different production of it if you plan on listening to it over and over as the book suggests lest you end up talking like someone out of a Matt Damon/Ben Affleck movie.
"The Greatest Salesman in the World"
Without a doubt, this book has changed my life more than any other I've read. In the past 20 plus years, I've read it many times, now I can listen to it as well.
Og Mandino is wonderful!!!!!
