Alien Infection

I rarely leave reviews on Audible, because there are usually enough for a listener to get a feel of other's opinions before they download the book. In this case, there were none, so here I go. The plot could have been interesting, but wasn't developed enough. The characters were cliches, and the narrator was dreadful. His reading was not only monotone, it also seemed out of synch with the punctuation that must have been in the book. I'm not an english major, but I do like to hear words pronounced correctly by a professional narrator. (Marine Core man)not corpse man (felt my gorj rise) not gorg rise.... these are just two mispronunciations in the last few minutes of this book. There are many others that I can't recall, as it took me almost a month to bother finishing the book.

Unlike one of the other reviewers, I often write reviews of books here, most often because I either really liked or really disliked the book. This novel is amateurish, the reader is dreadful, and the overall production is just plain poor.

What were those sound effects anyway? Well, they fit right in with the mispronounced words! Is there any excuse for a mispronunciation in an audio book?

Oh, well, another book credit turned to smoke.

Steven King is right. I think Bain has a lot to offer and I'm looking forward to reading more from him. This was an interesting read. It was a bit predicitable but I enjoyed it.

The narraator is absolutley horrible! I think my 5 year granddaughter would do a better job. The author asks you to make way to many assumptions in order for the story to flow. He should have won 1st prize for worst book ever! I gave it one star because i couldn't give it zero. Can I get my money back?
