Ewan McCabe, the eldest, is a warrior determined to vanquish his enemy. Now, with the time ripe for battle, his men are ready and Ewan is poised to take back what is his-until a blue-eyed, raven-haired temptress is thrust upon him. Mairin may be the salvation of Ewan's clan, but for a man who dreams only of revenge, matters of the heart are strange territory to conquer. The illegitimate daughter of the king, Mairin possesses prized property that has made her a pawn-and wary of love. Her worst fears are realized when she is rescued from peril only to be forced into marriage by her charismatic and commanding savior, Ewan McCabe. But her attraction to her ruggedly powerful new husband makes her crave his surprisingly tender touch; her body comes alive under his sensual mastery. And as war draws near, Mairin's strength, spirit, and passion challenge Ewan to conquer his demons-and embrace a love that means more than revenge or land.

"Steamy as only a Maya Banks can be!!!"
I liked this story a lot. It has a lot of yummy Highlanders and strong women. This book is the first in a trilogy. Its about three brothers who's hearts were harden by loss. So we know what will happen they will find the women that will allow them to find love and what it really means. That is every romance. But what a true romance fan loves is how the characters get there. The author did a great job in telling the older brother's story. The narrator made it every entertaining.
It can be graphic so if that is not what you are into then don't read or listen to Maya Banks books. I think she is a good story teller with a lot spicy.
There are some fight scenes and highlander politics which I thought gave the book more depth.
I hope audible will record the other books. I would like to know what will happen next.
I hope you agree and enjoy:0)
I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
"What an awesome story!"
The characters are very well developed! Ewan is just dreamy!
Mairin adn Ewan wedding night! OMG!!! Poor Poor Mairin...!!! But Ewan totally made up for it.
Ewan McCabe!
When Ewan punished Keith in the hall for hitting Mairin and then he got all excited when Mairin finally said she loved him!!!
Even though this is a romantic exrotica, it is a true, blue story! I loved it. I felt like I was in the hills of Scotland. I feel in love with the Ewan MCabe right away... the power! I loved the inner monalouge of Mairin and how she protected Kristin like a mother right away.
Never judge a book by its movie
"Hot Highland Heroes"
Way Way up there.Love this genre and I love Scottish History. Like chocolate and peanut butter, they go great together.
Hilarious Moment;
Marian is shot by an arrow, she is given whiskey to numb her, while she feels no pain, she begins to tell to Caven's brother about their wedding night.
Touching Moment;
Marian is taken away from Caven when a long time enemy claims she is HIS wife. Cavan vows to get her back as he is being dragged away.
I love her narration, she has beautiful tone.
Highland Heat!
This is a series, and they are all available on Audible...get them all, you won't be sorry.

"STOP READING THE REVIEWS"
Don't bother reading any more reviews coz your wasting time that could be spent on actually listening to these books that have sexy Highlanders, enjoyable story-lines that are filled with great characters who enjoy lots of carnal gratification, they are fun and are so well written that you can just picture the scenes...... oh and did I say already about the sexy Highlanders?
Worth the credit? It's a 'must have' book.
"Excellent!!!!"
I began reading this book simply because I love Highland stories, but goodness I got so caught up in it, I couldn't put it down. It was so captivating from beginning to end! I also found out that this is one in a trilogy but audible does not mention that and I have no idea if they are going to bring the other 2 books! So frustrating, I really don't want to get it from somewhere else. The author did a really good job with this story, I hope the other two books are as great and the the narrator (my first hearing her) also did a good job. I recommend this book with 8 stars!
"One Word....Delightful!!"
I absolutely enjoyed this audio book. The chemistry between Ewan and Mairin is so wonderful. I found myself smiling during their banters. People driving by in their cars must have thought me daft. :)
"If you like Julie Garwood!"
Yes, great listen. Reader has the accent down. Warm good feeling.
family loyality and how the brothers back each other in a fight
Ewan tells the heroine, to survive
I did listen in one day.
"In Bed with a Highlander"
Review:
"In Bed With a Highlander" by Maya Banks was a good historical fiction and interesting romance read. This was the beginning of a new highlander series by this author. Only Ms. Banks can write these kind of novels that simply keep us on the edge of our seats. All the characters were well presented and developed. For Mairin (heroine) and Ewan (Laird) ...hero... were just off the chart good. Let me not forget the two McCabe brothers(Alaric and Caelen) and (Ewan son)....Crispen.
The novel was very enjoyable with enough tension and humor that simply couldn't put the novel down until I had finished it. Only Ms. Banks can present such erotica...sex scenes that you just call romance that will keep your attention. Be prepared for a lots of action packed, steamy and even a suspenseful read. I was kept guessing just what was going to happen next. This is where I say you must pick up the well written novel and see what is in store for this highlander.
If you are looking for a good fantastic Scottish highlander romantic novel...you have come to the right place...for "In Bed With a Highlander" I would recommend this novel as a excellent read.
"Loved it!"
Yes, the narrator was fantastic. Her accent was very believable- thought she was perfect.

"10 Stars"
This book is wonderful, 5 stars for the story and 5 stars for the narrator.. This book is a collage of Honor’s Splendor (ignoring the terrible performance by Anne Flosnik) and The Bride (excellent narrator BTW) by Julie Garwood; If you love those books……. you will not want to miss out of In Bed with a Highlander.
