Taylor's Temptation

This narrator is painful to hear. Her voice is a nasal grunt at best, even for the young women characters. It is hard to listen to a man who sounds like a 80-year-old chain-smoking woman, but listening to a 23-year-old woman who speaks like a young boy belching the alphabet is equally annoying. All Suzanne Brockmann's books are about the romance, and there is just nothing romatic about these character voices.

The story itself is good, and after reading other books in this series I have come to really like Bobby's character. I had to overlook a quite a bit to like Colleen though, she seemd too stubborn and often childish, however that could be the narrator's interpretation of her. I liked the tension between the characters, their attraction sizzles. I have only read/listened to this book once, as the narrator is attrocious!!! Not only is her voice grating and very, very nasally, she consistently mispronounces names that have been established in the previous books in the series. Very distracting!! Luckily, or unluckily, this seems to be the only book she's narrated, as she is not skilled. I would have preferred Elizabeth Livingston, who read Get Lucky, or Maia Guest who read Harvard's Education.

Throughout this particular Navy Seals series, Bobby Taylor was the most understated member of ALPHA squad team. Honestly, I think I love his story most of all, not that the others aren't action packed, romantic, hot and sexy! Go to Suzanne Brockmann's website, print the sequential order list for this series. MUCH better when you read them in order! Worth the summer discount prices or definitely worth the credits to get them all. I have listened to the series (11 books in the series) TWICE and will definitely listen many more times in the future. BUY all 11

Yes...I enjoyed the storyline. Bobby and Wes of the Alpha Squad have ALWAYS been each other's rock. This story pushes their boundaries and tests their friendship. It also brings a whole new side of Bobby Taylor that we haven't heard about in the other books. A new side of Wes too.

The rest of the Tall Dark and Dangerous series by Brockmann. It's good...it's predictable but enjoyable.

She definitely has enthusiasm. I didn't care for her accent because it reminded me of an 80's surfer girl, which made the cast sound extremely immature in some of the parts. Bobby is supposed to be relatively quiet and her boisterous voice didn't bring that to the table. However, her boisterous voice and attitude definitely made up in the action department. She was not lacking when it came to emotion.

Sometimes opposites do attract!

I liked the continuation of the stories that she writes. I wished that a male or a female/male did the audiobook. It would seem more manly like the others in the series. All in all it's a ok book to listen to, I did like the story line and it was not so long to listen tot the voice.

This book needed much less agonizing over whether Bobby was letting his best friend down by his attraction to his friend's sister, and more on something, anything else. The conflict is a good starting point, but shouldn't be the middle and end as well. A little more action would have been nice too.

Having read most of Suzanne Brockmann's books, and thoroughly enjoyed many of them, I've got to say this is my least favorite.
