Bayou Moon: The Edge, Book 2

It was even better that the first one! You have got to read it. Ops, listen to it! The Author was great and the narrator was fantastic also. I truely can not wait until book 3 comes out.

Ilona Andrews books are my favorites now - just terrific, Good story, witty, steamy and funny. I can't wait for more of these and the "Magic Bites" series. Such cool and wonderful ideas of futuristic dystopias... I am always entertained.

I really enjoyed hearing more about William, whom we met in On the Edge. It was an entertaining story and wonderful narration by Renee Raudman.

I really loved the struggle and love story in this book. What's great about it, is there is a lot of adventure/action, a progressive maze of a story, with the right sprinkling of love. I think it's the best of the series.

It wasn't only action packed, it had a ton of mystery and intrigue. The wolf portion of the saga is so great, you see it in all three books. This one doesn't let you down, it gets you more interested in the stories.

The narrator was great and really got male and female voices down. It was such a great book, I thought the story could have gone on longer!

When I read a book, I hope for interesting and well-developed characters, a good plot, witty, realistic dialogue, and romance. Bayou Moon has all of these. The world and the way magic works are interesting without taking over the entire story. The descriptions are enough to take you there but don't go on too long. The plot is a bit predictable at times, especially since I have read all of Ilona Andrews' other books. I recognized some of her patterns from before but she writes them well enough that I'm happy to read more. The romance had the appropriate levels of tension and interest without becoming ridiculous.

My favorite aspect of Andrews' work is her characters. That is no less true for this book. I've found that, in many books, one of the characters, usually the heroine, desperately needs help and the hero is the only one who can provide it. She starts off asking for help and remains lesser for the duration of the novel. William and Cerise are both tough, capable, and smart and the author does a nice job of having them remain equals while giving them both moments in which to shine. They each need something from the other and they have complementary skill sets. They both also have issues which, over all, they are proactive about resolving.

The narrator Renee Raudman only adds to the experience of reading this book. Some of her accents aren't to my liking but that is a very minor point against her. She reads like I think. When the characters have humorous or frustrated thoughts or dialogue, Raudman's voice communicates not only the words but the mood of the character. There is a brain behind the voice and, because she uses tone and inflection so well, she brings the characters to life in a way that simply reading the print copy never could.

I eagerly await the third book in this series. If you enjoy Bayou Moon, you will likely love the Kate Daniels series which is also by Andrews.

Although I really enjoy the Ilona Andrews books in general (and particularly liked The Edge, Book 1), I found this book incredibly boring. As another listener mentioned, the story was formulaic. It was also predictable and way too parallel to the story in the first Edge book. The fight scenes went on way too long and the monsters of the book were less than believable. A big disappointment - one of the few books that I have listed to that I was glad to be finished with.

Ok, listen up people. I was very eager to write this review. This book is awesome. There is enough action, adventure, and romance for everyone!

I want to point out that in book 1 William's character seemed stalkerish, weird, creepy, desperate and whiny. He kind of sounded like a real wimp. Well let me tell you...William is none of those things. William is awesome! Manly, strong, tough, sensitive, humorous and lets not forget handsome! I enjoyed this book even more than book 1, because while I loved Declan I just think William is more realistic and did I say awesome? LOL. I loved the connection with Sirese (spelling?) and with her whole family. I tell you I got nervous everytime there was a new fight, just hoping none of my favorite characters got hurt. I am going to go ahead and admit I got teary eyed a time or two.

This book definitely kept my attention and I was actually sad it ended. The good thing is that every book in the series is connected so you kind of get to glimpse the characters from another's point of view.

The narration, characters, and story are great. You cannot and will not go wrong purchasing this book whether it is on sale or full price! You definitely should have this in your collection!

I really like the narrator, she is the perfect voice/voices. This book is full of action, really full of action. I guess that I am a prude, but I do get sick of the F word in all of her books. The variety in this series is interesting, I am anxious to start the next book.

First off, I loved William's character in the first book of the series, On the Edge, and as much as I enjoyed that book - in fact I think it was a phenom listen - I was rooting more for William than Declan to be the romantic lead. Cherise is definitely a better match for him than Rose, the heroine from On the Edge.

My main reason for rating this one lower than I rated On the Edge is the introduction of a spy thriller theme. It just didn't suit my tastes as well as the first novel's more "Questing Hero" theme. Also, William didn't have as much opportunity to break out the uber bad ass blasé that got me rooting for him in the first novel, though he did have ample opportunity to do bad things to very bad people.

Very much worth the listen!

I really wanted to like it because it was William's story but I found the heroine, Cerise really annoying. It seemed to take forever before things happened and when they finally did, the authors left you hanging. What happened to the bad guy and where did her family end up? I should have read the book and not wasted my credit.

The narrator was ok, some of the voices were really annoying.
