Of all the dukes in England, Jered Marcus Benton, the Duke of Bradford, was the wealthiest, most handsome - and most arrogant. And of all London’s ladies, he wanted the tender obedience of only one: Caroline Richmond.
She was a ravishing beauty from Boston, with a mysterious past and a fiery spirit. Drawn to the powerful duke, undeterred by his presumptuous airs, Caroline was determined to win his lasting love. But Bradford would bend to no woman - until a deadly intrigue drew them enticingly close. Now, united against a common enemy, they would discover the power of the magnificent attraction that brought them together…a desire born in danger, but destined to flame into love!

"Good Story average narration"
Love Garwood, have been a happy fan of her work for a number of years.
Unfortunatly the whispered and odd emphasis on the sound 'hhhhhh' truely irritating.
Mother of 3, grandmother of 6, retired nurse and substance abuse counselor. Thrilled to have the time to read or listen to books again.
"enjoyed this book"
miss garwood did a good job with this book. i liked that it wasn't predictable as most of these types of books are. however the intimate scenes between to main characters could have been a bit more erotic or at the very least a bit more descriptive. the story it self was okay not a keep you in suspense story but it was entertaining for which when it comes to these types of books entertainment and a light story is what the reader is looking for i'm assuming, as it is for me
i'm not at all fond of this narrator but in this book she is far less annoying than in other books she reads.

"Good story"
I really like the story, but for me, getting around Anne Flosnik's voice and accent were tough. I love a good English accent, but something about her's made it difficult for me to really immerse myself in the story and get a good visual of the characters. I may be interested to hear it read by someone else.
I am a retired Court Reporter and I LOVE books. All kinds of books but my favorites are mysteries and period books. I like civil war books and some biographies.
"Good story"
Loved the story but did not like the reader at all. She gave me a headache. I wanted her to cough or clear her throat the whole time.
"BEAUTIFUL STORY"
Yes because I like the story
When he decided to send her away
The american accent and caroline voice.
I liked it.
I have an addiction to Audio books. What I can't get at the library, I come to Audible and they are always having a sale. I have way more audiobooks than I could possible listen to in over 3 years, but I can't help but adding to my collection and I read a little of everything but mostly romance and paranormal goodies.
"Love Julie Garwood."
This is not my favorite book by Julie but it was good to listen to it. My favorites are The Bride, The Lion's Lady, and The Secret. I hope the rest of her books come out on audio.
"Not Julie Garwood Quality"
I LOVE Julie Garwood and wish more of her books were available. But this one did not live up to standards. Story was slow and characters were not as compelling. Not crazy about the narrator either.
"Worth the credit"
I have read (or listened to) all the historic Garwood novels and no two are alike. Her descriptions are vivid and you are transported. Her men always start as beast but with the right women end up not as pussy cats but tamed lions. The women are smart, witty and strong. The plot keeps moving and the narrator is wonderful. Many good qualities and a welcome ending.
"Good Story-would like different narrator"
I thought the story was sweet if you like Garwood's books; however, I am not a fan of Flosnik as a narrator. If you can get past the narration, it could be worth your credit.
“I love all genres of books, however when I listen to audio books as I clean, garden, drive they are better with a lot of heat!
"Enjoyable Listen"
I liked this book and the fact that it wasn't predictable as most of these types of books are. However the intimate scenes between to main characters could have been a bit more erotic or at the very least a bit more descriptive. I'm fond of some of Anne Flosnok narrations but in this book she she did a good job of the reading.
