Catch a Mate

I didn't think I was going to like this book at first but was pleasantly surprised. The main characters were funny and realistic, and the supporting characters were well-developed. I even liked the narrator's portrayal of the lead male's British accent. Nice job.

GREAT STORY, NARRATOR, AND AUTHOR. 5 STARS. LOVED IT

I thought it was very funny (I got caught laughing out loud at my desk) and sexy. A bit implausible, but all romance novels are, that's why we read them, right? I thought it was a nice light hearted novel that inspires me to go home and bite my husband. In an affectionate way.

I have been a member of audible for many years and this is my first review. Yes, this book is that bad. The story doesn't make sense in parts and the characters are aweful. They are aweful as people and not fully realized characters. They so often did things out of character that it became the norm.
Please don't waste your time listening to this book, unless you like stories about aweful, self-obessessed, juveniles.

This is another light, fun book from Gena Showalter. It's very different than the Lords of the Underworld series. The characters are interesting and I really enjoyed the humor in the book.

I don't normally look for a whole lot of substance in chick lit, but I definitely expected better from this book. It was weak, and a little nonsensical.

Also, given the fact that one of the main characters was of English descent, I would have expected them to find a narrator who could actually pull off an English accent. Horrible!

Zoe was awesome......she was the reason I didnt stop listening

There was too much self doubt and way way too much inside their head talk lol, not enough back and forth between characters....I didnt like the female character she was way to bitchy, I mean some bitchy could be fun but she was just to over the top.... I loved Zoe's english accent for Mark... The sex scenes were pretty hott.. But over all I had to kick the speed up to 2.5.... Kept saying to myself JUST GET ON WITH IT ALREADY!!!!

TO BE HONEST I AM NEW TO AUDIBLE BOOKS . I DO HAVE A TOP OF THE LINE E-READER. SOMETIMES THERE IS A GLITCH IN THEM .MOST OF THE TIME NOT...I WOULD SAY ANYONE WHO LIKES ROMANCE W/ COMEDY .BUT IT DOES SKIP CHAPTERS ON 2 DEVICES IN THE SAME SPOT.

I HAVE TO SAY THAT I HAVE BEEN READING MOSTLY ROMANCE AND SCHOOL ALONG WITH MED. BOOKS MOST ALL MY LIFE. AND I HAVE ON MY EREADER ALONE I HAVE 4,598+ BOOKS. BOOK IN TURN THE PAPER WELL OVER 20,000 + IN MY OWN TESTS OF A GOOD TO GREAT BOOKS NO MATTER WHAT KIND SHOULD GRAB THE READER IN THE CHAPTER AND NEVER LET THEM GO. I AM SORRY TO SAY THAT DID NOT HAPPEN . WHEN YOU READ ANY BOOK JUST BECAUSE YOU LIKE THE FRONT /HEARD ABOUT/FOUND IT ONLINE. IT SHOULD TAKE YOU AWAY FROM YOUR EVERDAY LIFE. DISHES ,WORK ECT. SO YOU ARE RIGHT THERE LAUGHING ,CRYING ,HOPING HE /SHE WILL MAKE IT AND TOWARDS THE END YOU READ A LITTLE SLOWER BECAUSE YOU DO NOT TO SAY GOOD BUY TO SOMEONE WHO YOU ARE READING ABOUT . WOULD I GIVE GENA SHOWALTER ANOTHER CHANCE YES. AND IF THIS BOOK WAS SKIPPING CHAPTERS TO BE HONEST I MIGHT HAVE LIKED IT BETTER.

ROMANCE YES HAS GRAPHIC TALKING WITH A SPLASH OR TWO OF COMEDY. NEEDS MORE DEPTH TO THE BOOK .AND TO BE FIXED SO AS IT DOES NOT SKIP OVER CHAPTERS.

This started as a very funny and sexy story but then halfway through it just went down. I've read and listened to many Harlequin Desire/Blaze books so I enjoy love at first site, intense relationship stories but this one was borderline ridiculous. The total time span of this story is about four days. In four days Jillian and Marcus fall madly in love, breakup, get back together after a suicide/stupidity incident and he proposes marriage and signs over half of his business to her. Also, Jilian's friend Georgia all of a sudden goes completely should-be-institutionalized crazy but that only makes her realize that Jilian's brother is her true love. Come on! The narrator did an ok job with what she had to work with though.

Stuggling to get through this one. So far it has taken me 20 hours to get through the first part of this book... Too many "grrs" and "don't go there's" for me. The narrator's change of voices for characters was pitiful.
