Lady Killer

I have enjoyed all of Lisa Scottoline's books but I have to admit my favorite characters are those from the Rosato and Associates so it was great to hear from them again. I am the opposite of the other reviewer - I love Barbara Rosenblat as a reader because I enjoy the theatrical performances (each to their own!) It is great to hear all the different characters in the voices I have become accustomed to. I am so intrigued by all of Lisa Scottoline's books that I tend to read or listen to them without breaks and then I'm sad when they are over. She has a great blend of characters, suspense and humor that I greatly enjoy. "Lady Killer" was no exception. Now I have to wait another year for the next book and hopefully another return to the law firm I have grown to love.

The very believable characters in mysterious reality. Barbara Rosenblat, brings them to life and, from the beginning, away we go. The flow of mystery along with wonderful charactizations made this a great story and a smiling memory.

I have read all of Lisa Scottoline's books, and this is as good or better than any I have enjoyed. The storylines are well matched, the characters are believeable, and Mary becomes very real.
Barbara Rosenblatt is at her best. Having lived in the Philadelphia area and being Italian myself- you can take my word for it- she nailed it. Great jpb, ladies.

and I love the dramatic skill of the narrator. She does a marvelous job of delineating the characters and bringing scottoline's characters to life. Her skill with dialects is unmatched.

I finlly found another author that I liked as much as Janet Evanovich. I love these characters!! I went back to the beginning and just finished Dead Ringer. If you are looking for a quirty story, you will love Lady Killer and the Philly talk.

Well spoken by the reader

This book had a great story line and a couple of unexpected twists. I thought the first 5 minutes were so boring that I almost stopped listening, but once the main plot started it was much more entertaining. Just a warning though...the narrator overacts the entire time. If the narrator tends to make or break the story for you, you might not want to buy this book.

This may not be a bad book, but I am having a hard time listening to it due to the over emotional reader. I admit that I tend to like readers that deliver the material as a read, rather than acting it out, and this book may be the text book case of a reader acting out every line. I actually have to turn this off every few minutes to let the readers interpretation get out of my brain.
My request to the reader--calm down! I'll put the story together in my head without you verbally spoon feeding me the book!
Also, I'm not Italian, but if I were, I might find the italian stereotypes in the story pretty hard to take. This makes "The Sopranoes" look like a nuanced masterpiece of italian culture....

This story definitely bordered on the boring side. It just dragged on and on. I was happy when it was finally over. The narrator didn't make it any more exciting.

i enjoyed this book but it was not the most engaging of the author's i have read. easy read.
