An up-and-coming African American artist has been murdered on Sheriff Joanna Brady’s turf in Cochise County, Arizona. Unfortunately the victim happens to be in the Washington State Attorney General’s Witness Protection Program. As the most recent hire in AG’s Special Homicide Investigation Team, J.P. Beaumont gets the call. He reluctantly heads to Bisbee, Arizona where he tangles not only with Joanna Brady and a contract killer but with some of his own personal demons as well.
When two top-drawer and independent minded investigators collide head-on, you can’t expect the result to be sweetness and light. After all, sometimes having two lead detectives on a single case is one detective too many.

"An ok job"
Would you try another book from J. A. Jance and Stephanie Brush and/or Gene Engene?Probably not. Having two narrators did not work very well for me.
What didn’t you like about Gene Engene’s performance?I didn't like the two narrators together, Gene Engene is a more laid back and slower paced in these books and I just didn't think he and Brushs' styles compliment each other.
Was Partner in Crime worth the listening time?It was an okay way to pass the time if you had nothing else to listen too.
Any additional comments?I would not buy another Jance book with two narrators.

"Joining two series"
Any additional comments?I have never liked the narrator of the J P Beaumont series. To my ear, the narration is flat. I think this book would have been better with a single narrator.

Started slow but picked up. Not sure if I will listen a second time. Do love the Joanna Brady books but just not sure.
