"Texas Blue"
The fifth book in the Whispering Mountain series, is the first book with the second generation. When his friend Lewton Paterson, wanting a chance to married into a good family decides to take the place of one of the gentlemen callers. While Duncan goes to the Texas-Mexico border to fight cattle rustlers, not wanting to go with the men to Whispering Mountain to face his cousins.
Lewton soon finds out that the three women are just what he is looking for, but they are not liking for anyone like him. So he ends up spending his time working the ranch, the hardest work he has ever done; but he likes the work. In the end Lewton and a ranch-hand Em have to go to the border to try to save Duncan's life.
This is a great story that Jodi Thomas had written, it lives up to the rest of the stories in this series. Linda Stephens does a good job with the narration.
"Won't listen to this narrator again."
I enjoyed the continuation of the Whispering Mountain series. It would have been nice to include more of the characters from previous books. I found that narration extremely lacking and dramatic pauses way passed annoying. I won't listen to this narrator again. I'm disappointed that the same narrator did most of Jodi Thomas' books.
Speed up the narration and cut the dramatic pauses completely. It was often dead slow and difficult to listen to.
