New York Times best-selling author Carl Weber is a master at portraying unforgettable characters and complex, passionate relationships. Voluptuous Loraine Farrow is as successful as she is curvy, but life is never easy when you want to have your cake and eat it too. With her husband Leon confronting issues from his past, trouble arises on the homefront - and more drama is on the way in the form of Michael, an ex-lover desperate to rekindle his and Loraine’s once torrid flame.

LIFE just happens that way sometimes!
"the webs we humans weave"
WOW that was an amazing story... I never expected the story to end the way that it did. Love makes people do crazy things and I remember something a lover of mine has always told me "No one really knows anyone". The performance was amazing I LOVE Grijo readers they are truly amazing and bring so much life to their performances. I love how characters from previous stories pop up in the book. I simply loved this story never thought it would play out the way it did.
"Great book!"
Captivating, Betrayal, Surprising
Lorraine had the makings of a true hero because she is a strong woman, but like all hero's, there is a hidden weakness.
Yes. This one had more intense drama
Friends and Lovers
I gave this story five stars because I found it hard to stop listening to the story. Weber did a great job of pulling the listener into the story line and characters - I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. The story is an instant transition into another world of lust, drama, and deceit - all the makings of a great story. Relax in your favorite bubble bath, close your eyes, relax and get ready to have your mind transported to another world.
"Really Jerome... really???"
I loved this book, I can usually see the dramatic plot twist from a mile away but I was caught off guard with this one until the very end. This is a story that just makes you say WTF but in a completely satisfying way. If you love drama and a story with plenty of plot twists and turns this is definitely for you. This book will not give you the answers to life's tough question but it will definitely give you an escape from everyday life. And Peter was giving me LIFE... I love to get one good crazy ass character in a story. In my *In Living Color* voice, I give this three snaps in a Z formation....
"Loved the characters' voices"
Yes of course!
I loved the voice of Lorraine and I also enjoyed the surprising ending.
Emotions and attitude.
Yes, absolutely!
I really enjoyed listening to this book. I could not put it down.
"Loved it! Ready for more."
Great storyline
Finding out who Big Poppa was.
Probably not, they were monotoned
When the young man committed suicide.
"bad bad bad"
I could not get into the story. IT did not flow well at all. I quit after only 3 chapters.
My name is Mona and I am an infrequent reader. I found books on audio by accident. I am really enjoying it.
"Torn between liking and hating this book."
I liked the book because it told and interesting story with a twist that I didn’t count on. The secrets and lies and even losing a best friend, I could really relate to. I was intrigued by the affair and even the demands the wife Loraine made on her husband Leon. They both were trying to justify their infidelity through their anger and greed; Loraine making demands on her lover when she is still married and Leon doing the same, was just not realistic or smart. There were some real in-depth topics behind the scene that I felt would tell a powerful back story as well. Topics such as premature ejaculation, child molestation, adultery, stalking, closet sexuality… And the list goes on.
I hated the book for personal reasons. I could not stand the naïve role the wife played or the arrogance of the best friend. It was all just too much. The book was believable up until the epilogue. I felt like I was seeing an old mob movie in my head. You know the scene where a body is floating in the east river.
Webber is a good writer, but I was not particularly sold on this book or its narrators. I could only recommend this book as a guide on what not to do in any type of relationship.
"Only three characters"
I like the idea of a women being the cheat and in a position of power. Women cheat too.
I figured it out before it ending. :(
Busted in the car!
Got a little teary eyed.
"Excellent book!"
This book is one of the best if not the best audio book I've purchased. Great story line and it kept my interest.
The story had twists and turns and kept me guessing.
The story was captivating from beginning to end. It gave a lot of incite in regards to relationships and how they can have a negative effect on some people.
I was surprised at the end of the book, very entertaining
