In the second installment of Dianne Duvall's Immortal Guardians series, when Marcus Grayden's grief over the loss of the woman he loved causes him to become reckless, he is assigned a new Second, who proves to be immensely distracting. Contains mature themes.
Also listen to the first book, Darkness Dawns: Immortal Guardians Series #1.

I love listening to audio books because I have little time to read. Faves are paranormal/sci-fi, with romance & inspirational thrown in.
"Good Book but a Little Preachy"
Liked the book but I was a little put off by the preaching of vegetarianism, recycling, etc. It's not that I disagree with the concept, but I don't particularly care for it in my fantasy books. I also found it a little unbelievable that an Immortal would own a Prius. Hot men drive a Jag, Hummer, Mercedes, etc., but not a Prius!
Otherwise, I thought this book, and the first in the series were very good and I plan to buy the third when it is released.

"Loved It..."
Yes. This was a really great listen. The storyline is interesting and the romance is steamy (not raunchy, which I like too - but she gives a great balance for those who don't like sexxxy romances) The highlight in this book is the cool little secret revealed about Ami and the development of new enemies to the group. I actually think this one was better than the 1st... and we'll get a part 3 (no release date yet, but I can't wait)

"Great listen!!!!!"
I absolutely loved this book. I was not able to stop listening to it. I was so engrossed in this book I finished in a day. If you love romance, vampires, and steamy romance you will just find this book addicting. The story had suspence and intrigue which kept it from being predictable and made me unable to stop listening. I found myself sitting in my living room telling my family to just let me listen to my book. They all know my love for romantic vampire and supernatural genre so they respected my wishes. This book was addicting! I can't wait to listen to the next book in the series.

"Can't Wait for the Next One!!!"
I cannot wait until the next one is out! I loved this mixture of vampires, immortals, aliens and romance!
Love to read!
"Very good!"
I really enjoyed this book and plan on getting the next book in the series. I would strongly recommend reading/listening to the first book in the series before this one so you know what is going on. The first book is excellent too.

First thought when finished: Oh MY! Even better than the first one but really OCTOBER for the next one :(
What I Loved: Just about everything! I would really like to wax poetically and make you realize just how fun this series is but I wouldn't do it justice. The characters are mufti-faceted, rich, deep, and fun. I was never once bored while I listened to the story on audio (11 hours or so) and the story built on the last book. I admit I was a little skeptical about Ami and Marcus in the beginning (it's a Seth thing) but I quickly grew to love them together. She was just right for the grouch and she melted his little hard heart! It was fantastic. Their give and take was very well done.
What I Liked: I loved the building up to Bastien's story because I know it is coming next. I think his will be doozy!
Things that made me go huh?: Not a darn thing!
Audio Specific Thoughts: Kristen Potter did a pretty good job with the narration of the story and I really hope they stick with her for the audio. This was enjoyable to listen too!
Final Thoughts: I want Lissette, Seth, David, and Marcus to have books. Oh and can there be a spin-off of the humans please :) Also can we explore Ami's family too! I know that is a lot LOL Dianne Duvall might just have a fan girl for life LOL

"Terrific!"
Even though it sometimes seems as if I am missing information, what I am seeking shows up eventually. It was the same with the first book as well. I felt like I had the story, but not the explanation until later in the book. I love that about them. It's like your waiting for a surprise gift, wondering when it will arrive. A nice stay at home winter read.
Finding out about Amy was a surprise.
Seth because I can't wait to hear about him.
Kirstin Potter does a phenomenal job of bringing the characters to life. Her voice is easy to listen to. I can easily differentiate between the characters without thinking about it and her voice is very clear on my ipod.
"GREAT READ"
I have enjoyed all three of these books in the series! I enjoyed the hunks fight with himself to let someone back into his life and the change that happens to him, from a snippy man to loving. Worth the credit.
