Courageous: A Novel

As a police officer's spouse... I identified with the situations in this book right off the bat. The writers did an excellent job capturing the life of a law enforcement officer and their family. Right down to some of the smallest detail.

This is one the best books I've read in a long time. Although the main characters were men I learned things that are valuable to women also. This was definitely worth the read. I stumbled acrossed it while searching for narrations by Roger Mueller. After reading it, I suggested it to several friends and family members. Little did I know, shortly thereafter it would go to the big screen. Let me add, I LOVE listening to Roger Mueller. His energy engulfs you and leaves you wanting for more. He has not disappointed me yet. It was he who got me listening to audiobooks. Great job! Great story!

Jip. Good lessons to be learned

Most: parents dealing with the death of a child. Least: it is anpredictable story

He has a great talent of making each caracter special and unique.

Learning the back ground of each guy.

Another one that I forced myself to finish. Too much hype about the book/movie ruined it for me to the point that I have the movie unopened. Too much packed into one story for me.
I have never liked Randy Alcorn but thought I would see if this was different.

Bottom line - not for me.

i had heard about the fathers and daughters pact and had always thought how good is that. lovely story lines. always hard choice in police service. job versus family.

when the daughter realised that her father was right and that she needed to save herself for her future husband

he seems to have a real empathy for the story line.

A jaw-dropping young police officer once told me he and his colleagues went to "choir practice" every Wednsday after work. I was looking for religious connections at the time; I took him litterally. I would have devoured this book at that time, but I'm just of the wrong population to appreciate it today.

Sorry, I don't know which genre this would be in. Teens? Self development? Fiction?

I did enjoy being entertained with a minimum of profanity and loads of positive inspiration. Roger Mueller was perfect for this work.

I had watched the Courageous movie video, so wasn't sure what to expect with the novel. At first I found it curious that much of the story and dialogue followed the movie so closely, but then Randy Alcorn began fleshing out the story and I began getting to know more about the characters. He also developed some other characters and bylines that added to the story. The narration was excellent, and I ended up enjoying the audiobook as much as or more than the movie.

This book is a wonderful call to serve Christ and to take our places as Christian men and women (yes, women) in the world today. If you listen to this book I promise you will be touched and changed by it.

I did not realise it was a Chrstian book at first, so it came as a very obvious surprise in the first chapter. A very predicatable dtory but an easy read and there was one chapter I bookmarked to share as a moral example should the need arise.
