Benjamin Button was literally born an old man. He lived a backwards life, for his body grew younger as the years passed him by. Come and listen to the original, unabridged story by F. Scott Fitzgerald which inspired the movie.

"Good story despite terrible narration"
I absolutely hated the narrator and his phoney accent. It was so bad it was distracting and I have no doubt that I would have enjoyed the story more in a different voice. If it was more than an hour long, I don't think I would have made it through.
"Interesting"
I honestly liked the sound and honest enthusiasm the reader placed in this book. Very well done.
Ben's dad was an interesting character, and he kept me invested in his son.
The child acting general.
It's been done.
No.
"Interesting"
I've never seen the movie but thought I would try the book. I found the concept of someone being born at the end of their life and then getting younger interested. Although not much happened throughout the story, it was still a pleasant read, hence the 4 star rating.
"Good listen"
Voice for Benjamin at different life stages was a positive aspect for the listener.
It was a strangely cute short story.
"Immortal Classics"
Perfect heartfelt narration with stresses which were always in place and relevant. This is a peculiar type of plot for Fitzgerald bearing in mind The Great Gatsby and his other short stories. The story is a wonderful allegory of life and certaily worth reading (or hearing).
"A good short story"
A slightly different version then the story told on the big screen but still very enjoyable and a good short listen.
"Story vs. Movie"
It's smack right in the middle of all I've listened to so far.
It was original, very different and interesting. Since I had seen the movie I was interested in seeing how close the movie and story were. Miles apart! Movie nothing like the story it is based on.
He made the pages breathe and come to life. A little corny, but a good representation of the area.
I wasn't expecting Ben to be such a jerk. When his wife started aging he lost all interest in her. Being older was the very thing that in the beginning drew her to him.
The story and the narration are enjoyable and since it is short and inexpensive you could do worse.
"A short but memorable story."
A classic story that moves at a quick pace. You don't have much time to feel bad for him because his luck quickly changes. I real loved this book and listening to it again. The guy narrator does a great job.
The time period that it was set in, and Benjamin's excitement for life. He packs a lot of living into a what seems like a short lifetime.
Benjamin I would love to meet and here more about his life. I would also like a word with his father about his poor parenting skills.
"Classic story, well read, & an enjoyable quickie!"
Fitzgerald is an amazing author. And this short story very well illustrates the ideals and stereotypes that go along with age and the aging process.... it's a very interesting story and really makes the reader ponder the issues it brings up. The narrator did a fine job. And it was well worth listening to.
"Definitely worth your time!"
Excellent book with a clear beginning, middle and end. Makes you really think about reality. I wish it were longer!
