When Whit & Wisty were imprisoned by the wicked forces of the totalitarian regime known as the New Order, they were barely able to escape with their lives. Now part of a hidden community of teens like themselves, Whit and Wisty have established themselves as leaders of the Resistance, willing to sacrifice anything to save kids kidnapped and brutally imprisoned by the New Order.
But the One has other plans in store for them: He needs Wisty, for she is "The One Who Has the Gift". While trying to figure out what that means, Whit and Wisty's suspenseful adventures through Overworld and Shadowland lead to a jaw-dropping climax and conclusion: the highly-anticipated fulfillment of the heart-pounding opening prologue of Book 1... The Execution of the Allgoods.

"No plot"
I liked the first book in this series, it was kind of different. However, this one was very disappointing. It really didn't have much of a plot, and was boring and tedious. I didn't even finish listening to it, got through a little over half of it hoping a plot with some meat would develop and it never did and I lost patience and just stopped listening, which I rarely do with a book I actually spent money on.
"Patterson gave up."
If the characters were a bit brighter and deeper. Even for teenagers, they were just not smart or interesting. If there was something more creative about the story - it just seemed to be borrowed from every other fantasy story.
Maybe some of Patterson's older stuff. I don't know anything about Ned Rust so I don't know.
The narrators were fine, it was just the story that sucked.
"Horribly Disappointed"
I really wanted to like this book but no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t. I love a good adventure but while this book has lots of events, it didn’t add up to an adventure. After thinking long and hard about why I couldn’t like the book, I realized that the characters were never developed. Stuff happens to them but we never find out who they are other than on a very superficial level. It was very much about how much bad stuff can we have happen to two teenagers but not much about who there are. Without this characterization, it’s hard to really care too much. I won’t be getting any more books in this series.
"WItch & Wiazrd: the Gift"
I have been a fan of James Patterson for years and have enjoyed his books immensely. This book was positively awful. Definitely not worth the time or energy to read hoping something worthwhile will transpire. I couldn't wait to finish the book as it was one of the worst I have listened to.
"Excellent"

I wish I could have... but then what would I listen too?
I am a parent that likes to know what my kids are reading!! Simply don't have the time to read and have a 2 hour commute everyday.
"Patterson does it again!!"
Patterson has written a young adult series that is very appealing to parents that want to read what their kids read!! Awesome series!!
You really feel like you are part of the book!!
I love the continuance of the same voices in each of the books. I love Elijah Wood!!
I cannot believe it, I couldn't put it down and simply couldn't wait to get the next books in the series. I was so anxious until I could download the second book after I finished the first at one time!!
Truly an awesome book and looking to be a fabulous series!! Very quick listen - I couldn't turn it off. Thank you so much!
"Enjoyed but better for teens"
I am 70 years old and enjoyed the series, They were entertaining and kept my interest but I feel this is much for suited for the teenage set. I have recommended the set of books to my granddaughters and I feel they will truly enjoy them.
"Not what I expected"
Waste of money and time. Maybe a bed time story, it will put you to sleep...
