Jeff Kinney's Wimpy Kid series is a publishing phenomenon, having reached number-one on the New York Times best-seller list. This fourth hilarious installment finds Greg Heffley approaching summer vacation with a clear plan: Stay inside and play as many video games as possible. Unfortunately for Greg, his mother has a much different idea about how the summer will transpire - she envisions lots of outdoor activities and "family togetherness".

"[T]he comedy of errors and indignities [Greg] suffers will make readers feel a whole lot better about any family vacation disasters of their own." (Publishers Weekly)
"My son loved it!"
My son is not into the fantasy books that other kids his age like. He really likes more realistic stories and he really enjoyed this book and thought it was very funny. He did not understand why they call the main character "wimpy" though. I am not sure why either......
It was funny according to my son.
My son likes all of them.
I love listening to audibooks when doing those tasks that don't require a lot of brain power. They make the time go by fast!
"A Great Book for Boys"
I am very much bothered by the incorrect English used in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. I work very hard to teach my kids proper English and this book definitely does not reinforce that. Sentences like
Captain Underpants is one I associate with DoaWK. They are both about the same age and both use a reading/comic mixture.
I liked the part with the dog on Greg's bed. How much difficulty Greg was having trying to sleep when the dog needed to go outside to take care of business.
It was a great read for my kids and kept my attention as well. We like to listen to audiobooks when we're driving and this series is one we enjoy a lot.
