Shared nightmares, visions of blood and fire, and random violence begin to plague the longtime friends and Quinn, Layla, and Cybil, the women bound to them by fate. None of them can ignore the fact that, this year, the demon has grown stronger - feeding off of the terror it creates. But now, the three pieces of the bloodstone have been fused back together. If only they could figure out how to use it.
A gambling man like Gage has no trouble betting on his crew to find a way. And though he and Cybil share the gift of seeing the future, that's all they share. Were they to take their flirtation to the next level, it would be on their own terms, not because fate decreed it. But Gage knows that a woman like Cybil - with her brains and strength and devastating beauty - can only bring him luck. Good or bad has yet to be determined - and could mean the difference between absolute destruction or an end to the nightmare for Hawkins Hollow.

"Loved IT!"
I have listened to the audio version of the two previous books in this series and couldn't wait for the final book to be released. As soon as I saw it listed here, I snagged it immediately. The conclusion was just as excellent as the first 2 books. I couldn't stop listening with "and then what happened next" type of anticipation. What a good story and characters! Oh, the reader was good also =)
"FANTASIC"
A must read, but PLEASE read Blood Brothers and The Hollow first! Not because you have to but because it just makes this book mean so much more!!
"good listen"
great series. good to listen while driving
keeps you interested
"The Pagan Stone"
This last book of the series was beautiful. This was by far my favorite of the three... I hope to see another adventure for Cal, Fox, Gage - Quinn, Layla and Cybil... Loved it!!
"Frequent Listener"
Okay, okay, I guess I have to say to my family that they were right now, I hate eating crow. Different narator for this one, I don't care for the changes as you tend to get used to voice types and inflections when you listen. I know not a big deal for some, but when you are listening to a series it sort of interfers with the enjoyment and story flow.
This book I hate to say was the worst of the three, which is sad because it was the end. With the expected tie up of the last couple now completed you sort of wanted to move past that to the fight with the big nasty. Talk about a let down, Stephen King it isn't, lots of potential for the conflict and the good versus evil thing, but it seems as if Nora got bored and wanted to finish it in about a chapter.
I guess you need to listen to it to close the story, but I hate to say I think some will be disappointed like I was.
"This was awesome! My 7 hr car drive went by fast!"
This was my first audible book and I loved it.
I really enjoyed the story line. A little folk lore & romance all in one.
I like all the book. No particular scene was better than the others.
Yes. I listened to the 1st half on my car ride out and the 2nd half on my car ride home. This made the 7 hour drive each way so much better!
"Enjoyable, though predictable."
This was a good book, though you could guess some of the story line. The conclusion was sort of lame considering the build up, but after listening to the other two in this series it is not to be missed.
"An overused storyline"
Those who read the first 2 and didn't mind an ending with no surprises.
She should have worked on a better ending, something that hadn't been done a thousand times before. I would have also liked a real connection between the 3 ladies and their burdens.
Suitable, easy switch between female and male tones.
Everything between Gage and Cybil. There was just nothing between them or from them to reader. I found the whole thing boring and if I had not invested time with the first 2 books I wouldn't have continued on to the end.
The pairing of men to women was rather silly and so predictable. I really wished they all could have remained friends with love blooming slowly and with great reluctance. Perhaps if they had changed attractions between couples between books and back again or one loving but the other not returning that love. I don't know, something that would make the whole couple thing more realistic.
I also wished Nora would have taken a page out of other horror talents. Ever notice how most successful books begin with children doing ordinary things? It is a trick authors to get the reader to recognize and accept the world being shown so when the scary stuff happens, the reader believes.
Nora started right but STOPPED right after the big bang. If she had taken the story to weeks after the first incident so that the reader would get into it and root for the boys and then jump to the first 7 years when it was starting all over again. THEN jump another 14 years, the reader would have been invested in the storyline.
Going back and "telling" what happened seems like it happened to someone other than the boys and the reader no longer has a vested interest.
