They head to Titusville, Virginia to seek the help of an old family friend, but Autumn senses they need assistance on a grand scale. Using her telepathic powers, Autumn calls a man she'd only seen on TV: FBI Agent Dillon Savich. But before Savich and his wife and partner, Agent Lacey Sherlock, can get on-scene, Autumn and Joanna flee, fearing the retribution of her Uncle Blessed.
A huge manhunt ensues, with Titusville Sheriff Ethan Merriweather racing to reach the girl before Blessed can get his hands on her. Blessed's got big things planned for Autumn and her gift, and he'll stop at nothing to force her into his growing army of exploited children. Savich, Sherlock, and Merriweather face their most elusive foes to keep Autumn out of harm's way - before it's too late.

"Predictable all the way"
In other episodes I've read from this series, Coulter used some restraint and kept the supernatural element to just a dash of spice. But in this one, she takes the hoodoo way over the line, letting it overwhelm the story and turn it into a shapeless mass. No plot-worthy parameters remain.
The characters flop, too. Coulter has always been noticeably cartoonish, but didn't run amok until this one.
She's also maddeningly repetitive, not just with statements, but with actions and events. Worst of all, the plot was so predictable that I found myself skipping large chunks, only to tune in later to find that things had gone exactly as I'd known they would. In fact, I fell asleep -- again -- just before the end, and couldn't stir up enough interest to rewind and finish it.
AUDIO:
The producers chose to do that awful thing of swapping between readers. Including this novel, I've never seen that done well. Rather, it's
disruptive and distracting. Costanzo has a high pitch, almost adolescent, which saps strength from the story. Raudman is awful beyond belief. I thought I'd experienced the worst overacting possible in audio, but she trumps them all.
"Too imaginative"
This is the first of the FBI series that I have not enjoyed. I like to at least think I can believe in the plot and the characters, but this one is too imaginative. Over the top on the mind power and the bad guys are totally unbelievable. Would not recommend or read again.
"FBI Series is the best"
It is a pleasure to experience the character development that Ms. Coulter has cultivated throughout the FBI series. I just love Savage, the tough, vegetarian, tea-drinking FBI agent who married his partner. This offering explores some 'paranormal' activity and throws in quite a few surprises. A fast read, there is something for everyone!
"Hard to finish"
The story was strange, but the narrators were what really got on my nerves. The female voices were whiny and the little girl's voice was just downright irritating. Could have definitely skipped this one.
"Should have listened to Marjorie's one star rating"
Coulter is one of my favorite authors, so I didn't put much credence in Marjorie's review. But boy was she right. This is Coulter's worst. She was way over the top in the supernatural, the two story lines were difficult to follow at times, and the only reason I finished the book is because I paid for it. Do not waste your money on this one. I was very disappointed. It did not deserve one star.
"Story not bad, narration - awful"
The story is a bit predictable and too much supernatural elements for the series. However, it was the narration that was the worst, the female narrator was so distracting it made it difficult to listen to.
"Really Bad"
Maybe the book was good, but the narration was awful. The voices were exceptionally irritating. This was the first audible book I could not finish.
"worried but wrong"
This was my husband's choice. I couldn't imagine listening to the same story that long. Boy was I wrong. That was the fastest trip across four states I've ever had. The voices were incredible. The characters have grown as they would have in real life. But they haven't lost a thing.
I've been an Audible addict since 2001. I like fantasy, intrigue, detective mysteries, love stories (not soft porn), and books with a Christian theme (and yes I know some don't think that fits with my love of fantasy). Since my husband retired I have less time to listen, but I always get through at least 4 books a month! I love to stock up during sales!!!
"waste of money"
The story line is lame and predictable and the writing amateurish. Don't waste your time or money on this one.
