A Living Conversation ushers listeners into a lively and accessible discussion of the manifold meanings of Genesis' stories, and engages us in a fascinating exploration of the relationship between interpreter and text. Dramatic readings from the Bible by Mandy Patinkin and Alfre Woodard are juxtaposed with the comments of more than thirty writers, theologians, artists, and thinkers, including Faye Kellerman, Mary Gordon, Samuel D. Proctor, and more - a dazzling, multi-layered chorus of voices.

"Excellent"
Very interesting discussion about the book of Genesis. All sides and religions are represented and therefore very enlightening discussion of the book and its stories.
"Wonderful"
I enjoyed every minute of this book. I loved the give and take. The many different faiths represented. I found it enlightening. I am very glad I purchased this book.
"Atheist Welcome"
Nine hours of pure intellectual hedonism. With all due deference to Steve Hofstetter this is the cure for the Cable Guy.
"How Many people should be talking at one time?"
I wonder if the several people who made this (book ?) ever listened to the text. At times there are 3 or 4 people talking all at one time.
The old expression "beat a dead dog to death" certainly applies here, as every topic is overdone until it becomes boring. Worse still, these people seem to seldom ever totally agree on any topic, with some of the views bordering on being rediculous. Save your money on this one!! Audible has better! The lowest rating allowed is one star, which in this case is much too high.
