Ever since he saved Dr. Mackenzie Grant's life, panther, shifter, and sorcerer Kalen Black has had trouble keeping the beautiful doctor out of his thoughts and his heart. The brush with death awakened an intense passion between them - one that for the first time had the notorious loner letting down his guard. With the Alpha Pack battling an evil Fae who is slowly gaining control over Kalen's mind, Kalen can no longer trust his own actions, and he breaks off his affair with Mackenzie in order to keep her safe. But when Mackenzie learns that she is carrying Kalen's child, no amount of danger will keep her away from the man she loves. To be with his mate and unborn child, Kalen will have to unleash the full fury of his power, and risk destroying them all....

"GOOD DEFINITELY.......... BUT JUST NOT BRILLIANT"
Please don't shoot the messenger - but I have to say that I'm so disappointed that I felt this book wasn't quite as good as the previous ones probably because Kalen (a very troubled Sorcerer/wereshifter who was thrown away at 14 and lived off and on the streets) and Mac's relationship was already fairly established although they did have to fight very hard to keep it. Also, there wasn't the quips and funny one-liners between the rest of the Alpha pack which were hardly mentioned at all as Kalen's insecurities grew and he felt he wasn't part of the pack.
However, it was a very passionate and enjoyable listen filled with supernaturals of one form or another all battling the evil dark fae King and his army and the intense sexy romance between the two lovers was harshly tested over and over again by the mental hold the King had over Kalen.
To get the most from this series it's not really a stand alone listen but if you haven't already listened to the other 2 books then it is a worthy paranormal romance series to plunge into. For the rest of us, well we will just have to wait until September at least for book 4 Hunter's Heart (Hunter sees dead people).
Worth a credit? Yes absolutely even though it didn't quite 'grab' me like the others it was still a credit deserving listen.
"Whew!!!"
I don't think I have yelled at a character in a book so much in my life. I was so angry at Kalen and then cared for him and then yelled at him and then.... well you get the picture. I was physically tired by the end. I mean to tell you, whew. I thoroughly enjoyed and hated and couldn't turn off and...well you get the picture. J.D. this was by far the best one of the series. Can't wait to see who will be next in the line up. I was kinda hoping we'd see some wings before the end but that's ok they are coming. Thanks for the rush. Until next time.....
"OK...But Not My Favorite Of The Series!!"
I truly enjoyed the other two books in the series soooo much better, but this one....not so much! It wasn't that it was a bad book. It wasn't. It was that Kalen was just too...I'm good...I'm evil, ...I'll fight...I'll give in, ...I'm alone, I'm not! UGH!
I like that Tyler brings the others back into the story line. Familiar "faces" if you will. I just didn't connect with Kalen and Mac like I did the other couples in the first two books. Sometimes that happens in a series. For some reason one person loves it, and yet, another one doesn't. That happened to me on this one.
""SO LAME""
Maybe if he had resisted evil throughout the book instead of at the very end and if it had a better herione it would have been better
no I like this genre
Sure, I guess the narrator can only work with what she is given
No, I expected more after the first two books
"Unfulfilling at best"
Not much, to be honest. I listened the whole way through simply because I'd invested so much time in the other stories already. I spent most of my listening experience rolling my eyes and watching the timer count down.
Backing off on the campy, hokey dialog would have gone a long way towards improving the story. It just wasn't as strong as the first two books. I get that Kalen's growing sense of distance from the pack means there wasn't the same opportunity for the usual banter and wit that I enjoyed in the other stories, but this was just too much. Every time Malik opened his mouth I kept thinking, "it can't possibly get worse...". But it did. Hard to react appropriately to a bad guy's actions when you can't keep a straight face.
Yes. I really like Kirsten Potter in general but didn't care for this one at all. It was over the top, which was made all the worse by campy, predictable dialog.
Definitely disappointment. I loved the first two books! This one just fell way, way short. I hope the next one is better. One not so great book definitely isn't enough to throw me off a series, narrator or author I otherwise really enjoy.
I love losing myself in books of any kind
"Nice Action and Storyline ... Egh..on the girl"
Compassion, Action and Emotion! You can't help but feel for Kaylan and his background
So I would recommend the story as I am enjoying the series and really connected with Kaylan. But honestly I was not with his mate. Mac was just annoying and must suck as a psychiatrist. She just did not seem to understand Kaylan or what he needed. In every instance of his bad incidents she was the cause. Oh we'll it was a great story minus the self involve woman.... How could she let everyone but him know about her issue with their relationship
Very nice really brought out the characters
You think your family is disfunctional....Try mine
"Good, but..."
Wow, this was like an emotional roller coaster that went off the rails. Perhaps this was the type of reaction the author was going for; and maybe the background of Kalen, as well as the gravity of the situations he and Mac were facing, warranted all the dramatic highs and lows...or maybe that's just the ingredients for a great book!?! :) I'm a huge fan of Potter narration, so anything she's reading I'll give it try. In general i was left with mixed feelings, but, it was overall a good story. You definitely benefit from getting the first two books before getting Black Moon, and they are well worth a credit or two, this last one though I'd wait for a sale.
Tell us about yourself!
"incredible,beautifully written"
This was really good read. I could not put the book down I love this carrator I wish his story went on. I look forward to seeing what happens to kaylen and Mac.
Reading is a must-have ESCAPE...
"Plot Twists and Turns... even Frustrates"
Earlier reviewer truly nailed it when she said..."I don't think I have yelled at a character in a book so much in my life." Stories take us on the journey... however, few are willing to let the bad guys win or at least seem to. Kalen's character is conflicted throughout the story and there may even be times you find yourself cursing his choices/actions. Nevertheless, it's addicting!
Though the first two books were good, the 3rd installment is definitely in a different league. Enjoyable paranormal romance!
"love it"
Beside putting a fourth book to it no.
Kaylin finding out Mac's pregnant...from her dad!
I like Kirsten potter's reading the books but damn she really gets into it.
I'm trying to write a book of my own.
The book series is amazing but it feels like there should be more story's for the others in the book.
