The second novel in the Virals trilogy from the number-one best-selling author and inspiration for the TV series Bones - Kathy Reichs!
Ever since Tory Brennan and her friends rescued Cooper, a kidnapped wolf pup with a rare strain of canine parvovirus, they've turned from regular kids into a crime-solving pack! But now the very place that brought them together - the Loggerhead Island Research Institute - is out of funding and will have to shut down. That is, unless the Virals can figure out a way to save it!
So when Tory learns of an old Charleston legend about a famous she-pirate, Anne Bonney, whose fortune was never found, she can't believe her luck - buried treasure is exactly what she needs to save the Institute on Loggerhead! Trouble is, she and her friends aren't the only ones looking for it. And this time, the Virals' special powers may not be enough to dig them out of trouble.

"Even better than the first."
Great detail in this adventure. Even better than the first book. Looking forward to the next one!!!
"Vitals the series"
At the top
All the teens are so good in their own part
Love the sound effects
Much anticipated in audio. Very hard to locate in audio
Can not wait for the audio of Code. The third in that series
"Not only for teens"
The Virals books are by the Bones author and are aimed at teens and young adults, of which I am neither, but, as with Harry Potter, I really enjoyed them anyway. Having enhanced capabilites seems to be a popular theme for stories these days, and I especially like the connection with wolves. Give it a try. I would suggest reading the first Virals book first, if you haven't already. I hope Reichs writes more of these.
"story great, audible download not so..."
I love the Virals series. Bought book 1 on CD. When Amazon didn't provide a cd option, I tried Audible. Something went funkie on disk 2 or 3 and it restarted at an earlier point. Tried tore-download and was told I had completed my max downloads. Contacted them through their website. No response. I've got the whole story (I think) but the stop and re-start at a different part of the story is annoying.
LOVED the whole story.
Narrator did great. I could tell what character was speaking even before the text identified her/him.
Only complaint is the no-mass produced CD option. As I said, I had a download problem and Audible did not respond to my query.
I'm a bibliophile since early childhood. Love speculative fiction, odd premises, mystery novels that teach about different places and times.
"Like watching alpha posturing in the dog park"
I'm not sure if this book get's better. It lost me in the second chapter when the teenage pack was busy explaining how special they were. Really lost me. Normally Rechs is a much better writer.
"More of a preteen book"
No disappointment. Thought this was a teen book and the simplicity of story appropriate for preteen audience based on our teens reading list and maturity. The characters were cute, spunky. Even with the characters special traits, this story lacked the complexity for our young teen. It was a cute adventure.
Not applicable. It was pleasant for the this type of story.
Pitched very young
"Seizure: A Virals Novel, Book 2"
If you ever watched the movie " The Goonies" and enjoyed the story and fun- you will enjoy this book immensely. It connects with the characters from the 1st book and expanses to fun and frolic.
"Great Story!"
Wonderful story for both teens and adults! Kathy Reichs never disappoints. I'm looking forward to more in the series.
