Publisher's Summary

One of the most enduring American novels of all time, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn follows the adventures of Huck Finn and a runaway slave named Jim as they travel down the Mississippi river on a raft--all in order to help Jim win his freedom from slavery. Told in Twain's unique style, Huck Finn's story is one of the greatest tales of love, respect, and human decency, told through the eyes of an unlearned, but big-hearted, boy.

    "A Classic"

It is a classic story from a much different time in America. The narrator does a great job with all the characters. The derogatory racial words are offensive but it must considered when the book was written. Very entertaining.

    "Two thumbs up!"

Love the story and the narration! The narrator brings the characters to life with his mastery of accents. Mark Twain is a master story-teller.

    "Excellent"

A superlative performance of a very challenging text. Armstrong's recording makes Twain's style come alive, without the characterizations becoming grating or tiresome - much more easily said than done.

"New life to an old Classic!"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I have read this book many times over as both a child and an adult. Mark Armstrong's performance was first rate! Speaking as an African-American, I must also congratulate audible for choosing to use the original terminology in accordance to the time and the writings of Mark Twain. It is an inert part of our American History and because, plain and simple, that's just the way things were.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The performance of the "Royal- None -Such".

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Would have loved to, but a girls gotta get her beauty sleep.

    Any additional comments?

Thanks once again for not succumbing to the in-authenticity so prevalent today.Bravo!
