The era of the Old Republic is a dark and dangerous time, as Jedi Knights valiantly battle the Sith Lords and their ruthless armies. But the Sith have disturbing plans - and none more so than the fulfillment of Darth Scabrous’s fanatical dream, which is about to become nightmarish reality.
Unlike those other Jedi sidelined to the Agricultural Corps - young Jedi whose abilities have not proved up to snuff - Hestizo Trace possesses one extraordinary Force talent: a gift with plants. Suddenly her quiet existence among greenhouse and garden specimens is violently destroyed by the arrival of an emissary from Darth Scabrous. For the rare black orchid that she has nurtured and bonded with is the final ingredient in an ancient Sith formula that promises to grant Darth Scabrous his greatest desire.
But at the heart of the formula is a never-before-seen virus that’s worse than fatal - it doesn’t just kill, it transforms. Now the rotting, ravenous dead are rising, driven by a bloodthirsty hunger for all things living - and commanded by a Sith Master with an insatiable lust for power and the ultimate prize: immortality... no matter the cost.

Praise for Joe Schreiber’s Star Wars: Death Troopers: “This is the Star Wars of every horror fan’s dreams - gory, funny, and brimming with a blood-spattered cast of swashbucklers and space-zombies.” (Seth Grahame-Smith, author of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies)
“Brilliant . . . This book combines two of my favorite things on earth: the Star Wars universe and the undead.” (Tommy Wirkola, director of Dead Snow)
"Didn't even make half way through"
It was just boring and gross. I've read every Star Wars book in the last 20 years. Always loved them, but this was the worst. This is just horrible.
His inflection was all wrong. Sounded mono-tone. Sounded like one of those automated answering service like the customer service lines use. There were too many times where there would be
He didn't have a lot to work w/, so I don't think he detracted too much.
I would cut the entire book, it just should never have been written as Star Wars book.
I made it to chapter 19 and just stopped, it was too bad to continue. Come on George, what were you thinking allowing them to publish this junk within your universe? I never thought it was necessary to read reviews on Star Wars novels, they’re just so fun and relaxing. Won’t make that mistake again. Can’t believe I spent this months credit on this horrible book.
"Below Average for a Star Wars book"
If you liked "Death Troopers" you'll probably love this book, but below average compared most Star Wars books.
"red harvest"
this is the grossest book I've ever had read to me. I wish that i could just delete it from my memory as i have from my computer.
"THE WORST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ!!!"
Title the book
The all concept of mixing Zombies with an Star Wars world is just bad. I had to spend 15 minutes on a background story for a new character that will not be relevant or would die 1 minute after finishing his background story, what is the point?
Also the all contamination system is just bad and is not consistent. In addition to first classic dump zombies, then smart lightsaber handler, and tactic group attackers, to get back to dump brute force zombies again. State the rules of your zombie world and stick to it, but BE CONSISTENT!!
The droid is the online from the Star Wars world
All but the droid
This is by far the worst book I have ever read, it is sad to see how cheap the Star Wars brand has become!!
"The worst Star Wars book!"
The Star Wars univers did not need a zombie book. The story was written badly. It seemed the story was just made up in a hurry to fill the zombie niche. I was very disappointed in this book and annoyed I wasted a credit on it.
NO! I have read every Star Wars book and will continue to as long as they write them.
He did a fine job reading the material given him.
Great way to read great books on the go. Love Sci Fi especially Orson Scott Card and Star Wars.
"Creepy"
Not really. This book was an ok follow up to death troopers, but lacked the oomph that the first one had.
It was interesting to learn the origins of the plaugue and having several intelligent plants was very unique.
Excellent use of voices, especially the the Neti.
Not become a Sith acolyte.
Not my favorite bit of EU, but not bad overall.
"not worth the time"
Staying true to star wars why is it about zombies i would not even let my worst enemy listen or read the book.
No
yes it is not his fault the story was bad
Disappointment
Do not read or listen to this book
"One of the worst Star Wars stories..."
This is nothing but garbage, no real plot, but just an attempt at being horribly gross...not worth even $1.00.
"I thought the title started with Star Wars?????"
Hey Joe, just because someone grabs a lightsaber, doesn't make it a Star Wars story. If you wanted to write a zombie novel, write a zombie novel. What a waste of a good credit. Thank goodness I didn't actually waste a couple dozen bucks on this fraud.
Not so much the genre, but I'll never waste another good credit on one of Joe Schreiber's books. Sorry dude, this was painful.
I've always loved John Glover's acting and think its so awful that some jerk conned him into narrating this story. His narrating didn't detract at all from the book, the writing detracted from this book.
Amazement that anyone at Lucas' company would have ever agreed to allow this to be published, I want to know who got paid off...
Star Wars fans, there are so many wonderful writers out there who have penned wonderful stories but believe me when I tell you...this IS NOT one of those.
"Star Wars Zombies???"
I'll try it but no zombies. Zombies are a dumb fad I believe does not belong in the Star Wars universe.
I didn't mind this flower re-animating a corpse, but once the eating of others happened, I was done.
He is a great performance for the material.
Zombies
