I have to say that I am pretty disappointed in this story. It started out great, with lots of potential. The main character is an intriguing woman, who's had a few embarrassments in the past, but with her mentor/friend, continues to try and forge ahead. She's built up as this independent woman who, although has had some setbacks, is a solid investigative reporter.

Then she meets with a man and the independent woman seems to just vanish in a flurry of unrestrained lust. That doesn't bother me, as long as it remains in the moment. But after that scene, her character becomes increasingly more cliche and irritating to deal with. I stopped listening because I honestly didn't care about her story anymore. This may sound harsh, but I was upset with what happened to the character. Perhaps its gets better after I stopped listening, and maybe I'll try it again, but for now, it simply doesn't grab my interest.

Good thing this was on sale at $4.95 because it wasn't worth a full credit. The story was excessively long, the premise way out there and the author didn't even have enough confidence in her own story to think the reader could have figured it all out at the end. She had to add a dumb twist to expose her true bad guy. Like it wasn't rather obvious already. There were two many unnecessary sub plots and most weren't brought to a practical conclusion. Definitely not one I would recommend

Exclusive has the best of everything one needs for a good read/listen. I was so inspired that I have made this entry ... which is my first.

Her delivery, tone, accents, voices, everything. Just not that great.

It was a good Sandra Brown book, with some good story development and twists, but the narration made it really, really hard to get through.

The story was believable, but a stretch. I got this for my wife who travels with me most times, will enjoy this more. I would like more action. I didn't find a slow spot in the book. It showed corruption with big power. A victim you wouldn't think of as one, and the hero is likeable.

I wasn't surprised by the ending, it was happy. It left me smiling.

Tanya was able to have a different sound for each character.Easy to listen to and know witch character is speaking.

It didn't grab me like a Vince Flynn book does, I would listen to it again.

After having read Sandra Brown's "Smash Cut", which I enjoyed very much, I was disappointed with this book. If the "bad guys" were senators or congressmen, or Mayors, or even high-ranked military officials, I guess it would be easier to "digest" the events happening in the book. A corrupted President of the United States, a criminal chief adviser, and a devious First Lady are a bit too much for me. Other than that, it's an easy and enjoyable read; a good narrator.

It is! Everything about this book is bad. The characters are weakly developed and the "love" story is stupid from the onset--particularly at the onset. The only reason that I finished listening to this novel is so that I could legitimately pan it. Don't waste your money.

It is a solid book-I enjoyed it.

There were a lot of twists and turns-the story never stays on one path...it is a great and suspenseful read.

She didn't seem very animated. I'd have preferred a different narrator but it is still worth listening.

The ending was fantastically unexpected!

Good book, worth a credit if you are a SB fan - I usually wait & buy on sale.

Nothing new or different.

Barrie is an investigative reporter looking into bad things done by the President. Gray used to be one of the President’s advisors. He is helping Barrie.

Gray is smart and always right. Barrie argues with him on almost everything. The effect is similar to “they are hiding, he tells her to be quiet, and she says loudly why.” She also assumes incorrect things, frequently. I was annoyed with some of her actions.

There is too much pondering and dragging out the story. The interesting parts would make a much shorter story. There is nothing new or special. It’s the kinds of things used in most suspense stories. There’s a twist at the end, but it raised a question about someone’s death instead of answering it. I did not like having this open ending.

Romance exists, but it wasn’t well done. It was barely there.

The narrator had a snippy smartalecky tone to her voice which was ok for Barrie. But it did not fit Gray.

Genre: romantic suspense thriller

I have read a number of books by Sandra Brown, and so I wouldn't dismiss her by this one failure.

Sandra Brown usually creates strong, principled female characters, like in Rainwater. This female lead was an idiot, self-serving, and ridiculous.

The premise of the book was far-fetched, and neither the female or male lead came across as real people.

A real disappointment!
