Publisher's Summary

Lou Winter is a lonely woman who no longer realises she's being taken advantage of - whether by her mother or unfaithful husband Phil. Then one day she spots a magazine article on clearing clutter.

What begins as an earnest spring-clean soon spirals out of control. The more Lou lets go of, the more light can get to those painful places at the centre of her heart. When she meets hunky local man Tom Broom, she sees her philandering husband in a very different light. But, even with Tom's help, can Lou Winter manage to put the spring back into her step? And who knows where her newfound zest for the stripped-back life will take her next?

    "Really enjoyable."
Would you listen to A Spring Affair again? Why?

Yes I almost did not buy this book because the description did not sound appealing, however I was desperate when on holidays and used a credit purely because it was a Milly Johnson book. I was pleasantly surprised it was great.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lou because she went for what she wanted and got it.

Have you listened to any of Colleen Prendergast’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    Yes she is always great.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No it was a light happy read very enjoyable but not moving.

    "loved this book"

This was a great story, well written and read. Characters were very believable and had depth and personality. Nice long story, I was sorry to get to the end. Concept was also believable and interesting. My dogs got extra walks just so I could take my iphone and listen to the next few chapters!

    "Cleaning house and husband"

Do you ever get the inclination to clean, which, when done, makes you aware of other things that also need the boot? The more the heroine cleaned, the more she saw things that were wrong in her home and life, including an insufferable husband. Go Lou!

"Definitively a great chick lit author!"

Got this one after "the birds and the bees" and was glad.

It has a more serious tone and the story is quite real, I would dare to say it makes you think a bit on some things but keeps its lightness via the romance, which of course is faery tale stuff....but that is after all the reason why one listens to this kind of things.

One more thing, the book is nicely written meaning doesn't repeat same phrases or words again and again or uses cliches until you are gaging.

    Narrator is good.

All in all WORTH IT !!!

    "GREAT SUMMER READ"
If you could sum up A Spring Affair in three words, what would they be?

This was a great listen from beginning to end and well worth the purchase. I enjoyed the narration and was able to picture each person in my mind. I highly recommend this book.

    "an affirming read for women"
Where does A Spring Affair rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

highly enjoyable; I'll listen to it at least twice.
Those which are more difficult to understand or which have more complex storylines I listen to more than twice.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The solid Joe Broom was excellent and full of a few surprises.

    Which scene was your favorite?

When Sue finally found a convincing reason to leave house and home.

If you could rename A Spring Affair, what would you call it?

    Romance of the Skip (sp?)

    Any additional comments?

I'll keep my eyes peeled for other titles by this author. The narrator was brilliant!

    "Very enjoyable"

Characters were good with a likable protagonist. Pace was not fast but not plodding, and it was predictable but not in a way that detracts from the story. It is not difficult to guess how the story is going to end, but the journey to that end is very satisfying.
