Lenore Lester was perfectly content with her quiet country life, caring for her father, and having no desire for marriage. She took steps to remain inconspicuous and tried her best to show indifference - but to no avail! The irresistible Duke of Eversleigh had found her out and was quite persistent in his affections....
The Shy Miss!
Notoriously charming Jason, Duke of Eversleigh, could easily see behind Miss Lenore's brilliant disguise. Though the awkward lady hid behind glasses and pulled-back hair, she couldn't cover her beauty. And Jason was ever determined to loosen the hold she had on her heart.

Historical romance junkie. Who doesn't love romance?
"ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ"
Coma inducing. The reader is clear and concise but she is reading far to fast or someone has upped the speed on the audio because it reads so fast you end up feeling stressed out and uninterested. Not good for a story that is mundane to begin with. Thankfully Stephanie Laurens has written far better things. Try her Cynster novels, they are much more interesting.
"Speed Reader"
Helen, slow down! It's work following you through this book. Love all SL's books but this one was stop and go. You need to keep backing up to catch up, it's read so fast. The story is a keeper, not the narrator's style.
"Enjoyable"
This story was somewhat predictable, but kept my interest most of the time. I like the fact that the author created a strong female character, yet she was vulnerable enough to be believable. My biggest problem with this audiobook was the narrator. Her British accents seemed stereotyped and the male lead character was made to sound so obnoxious that it was hard to become sympathetic to him. I will definitely read more of this author, but will avoid this narrator in the future.
"Painfully bland"
It didn't sound like a bad story line, but I didn't listen to it for very long. The low voice of non-animated woman's voice was too frustrating, and it was hard to tell which character was speaking.
"Fun book"
The characters were good and likable. The performance was great. I love good narration and this was definitely good. Somewhat predictable in certain places, but great descriptions of people, places, and clothing. An enjoyable read.
"Won't live long enough"
I do not recommend. This book was so slow. It bored me to death. I didn't finish it.
The reader was awful. A slow, overly detailed book and a dull reader make for torture. So sorry but I hated this one.
Author spent way too much time in the characters heads. Conversations between them seemed rather foolish.
No!
Although she has a lovely reading voice she is not at all skilled in characterizations.
Oh, please, I couldn't get thru this one. I was a fan of Stephanie Laurens a long time ago. I find her books very boring now.
