In the 1880s, Kathryn Reichart flees an abusive life among the wealthy upper class in New York City. She heads West in order to establish a new identity and safe haven for herself and the child she carries. Mere chance lends a hand on the streets of frontier town Spokane Falls, when Kathryn is accidentally knocked down in the street and rescued by Chase Austin, a man hiding the dark secrets of his own past. Both find solace and redemption in a hesitant romance and wilderness life that defies the society of the day. Looming over their fate is Kathryn's tormentor and husband seeking her, his child, and revenge.
