Israel successfully launches a first strike on Iran, taking out all of their nuclear sites and six of their nuclear warheads. American president William Jackson threatens to support a U.N. Security Council resolution condemning the Jewish State for unprovoked and unwarranted acts of aggression. And the Twelfth Imam prepares to order a genocidal retaliation.
Meanwhile, CIA operative David Shirazi has infiltrated the Iranian regime and intercepted top secret intelligence indicating that two Iranian nuclear warheads survived the attack and have been moved to a secure and undisclosed location. In danger not only from the ongoing war between Israel and Iran but also from the increasingly hostile governments in multiple countries, Shirazi and his team are in a race against time to find the remaining nuclear warheads before the most cataclysmic event in the history of the Middle East comes to pass.

"You know what you are getting"
If you have read or listened to other books by Rosenberg, you know you will be getting a lot of religion mixed with action. This is the third book in this particular series by Rosenberg. It's better because there is more action than before. But it can be a bit of religion overload at times. Still I enjoyed listening.

"Read them in order and enjoy"
I would love to give a eloquent and engaging review but all I can say is, Read These!
The Rosenberg series has been days of excitement and thought provoking narration.
I only give 5 star ratings for true everlasting masterpieces. (Like Outlaw Platoon by Parnell and Bruning, and The Outpost by Tapper) After once again wishing I could give a 4.5 for this whole three book series I give it a absolute guarantee of enjoyment if you are a reader like I.
"Weak ending"
intelligent blend of Biblical truth, science, and current political issues. I thought the ending was not as good as the rest of the 3 book trilogy.
Not the best Rosenberg fiction. OK, entertaining, but it felt to me like the story had to end, so it did. I felt more fatigue than suspense toward the end.

"Simply Awesome"
I'm glad I chose the unabridged audio version over print. The reader did voices so well, I forgot the characters were fictional. The story seemed real
Dr. Birjandi's final stand in the facility. I wondered if he would truly stand for Christ. I knew in my heart he would, but it was amazing to see it happen. He was afraid but did what he had to do. I sometimes time wonder if I could be as courageous. This scene reminded me to be in prayer and ready at all times to speak the truth even if might mean my execution.
Nouri's kidnapping from the hospital had me off the edge of my chair. It didn't seem like they could pull that off, but the quickness and unity of the team made it happen. I loved the courage, teamwork, and daring of all the players.
Twelfth Imam Goes Down -- he was the essence of evil. Glad to see him go.
Lots of page-turning tension. I now have no more fingernails, but it was worth it. My favorite book of 2013 so far.
"A good story premise is ruined by Christian zeal"
An option to fast forward through all the biblical references, prayers and refrences to Jesus.
Absolutely- I'm not quite sure what to call the genre. How about force-fed religion with a sprinkle of a story.
The religious references, bible readings, prayers and references to Jesus by characters were so overdone that I could not tolerate listening to the entire book. This is only the second book I did not listen to completely in all my years wit Audible. I will remember to avoid this author.
"Not a thriller!"
The story line had great potential. However, I feel it was written for born again Christians. If I wanted to sit through over 10 hours of preaching, I'd have bought something else!.
"Not disappointing!"
I enjoyed Damascus Count Down very much. Joel Rosenberg is a very good storyteller and when you mix in the fact that he is an expert of the Middle Eastern culture, it gets very exciting.
"Should have been put in the religious section"
I found myself skipping whole chapters when the Christian Conversion dialogs began
Good tension
He is as good as I have heard
Depends on how much of the preaching was in it
"Very Good!"
I am amazed at Joel Rosenbergs insight into the End Times and current affairs.
It amazes me how he can bring to light what is going on in the world and form into a story that you become enthralled in.
I looked forward to each time I was able to sit and listen to it. I often dreamed about it, it was so real to me.
"Entertaining series!"
Yes. The entire series was very entertaining considering all that's going on in this part of the World.
Maybe Daniel Silva spy novels, but just because they are Middle East based because Daniel Silva and his character Gabriel Allon really aren't similar. They have an entirely different premise, but it has the intrigue of that part of the World.
He did very well with the character's voices.
Yes.
If you want to be entertained I think this will be a good choice.
