Publisher's Summary

Gray was beautiful four years ago, when he asked Isabel to marry him. Now there are no words to describe him. He is no longer young and reckless, not by any stretch of the imagination, but a tormented man, driven by secrets, silent about what he’s done since he disappeared. She knew how to handle the boy he was, but this man…this man is not tamable. Does she dare explore the places inside herself that Gray demands to possess? Does she trust him enough to bare herself completely to a lover who has returned as a stranger?

    "Narration Terrible"

Can't comment on the story because the intolerable narration made it impossible to finish. Do not waste money or credit.

    "Horrible Narration!!!"

I have to stop listening, I can't finish because of the badest narration ever. Spear your credit.

    "This narrator Sucks"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The narrator makes getting through this novel; positively tedious. Her reading sounds like its stuck between a whine and a growl which is a little disturbing. I eventually just bought the book for my Kindle as the narrator was really working my nerves.

How could the performance have been better?

    Have another narrator.

Do you think The Stranger I Married needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No all loose ends were brought to a close.

    "Save your $7"

This is one of the most godawful narrations ever. Audible should allow readers to nominate the worst narrations of the year awards because this mess would win first prize.

Sarah Coomes chews up the scenery in a reading so vaudevillian as to be comical -- if only that is what we came here for. Her natural speaking voice (which is what I heard in the sample) is a lovely British accent that sounded perfect for the story, but for some horrible reason she read each character in an over the top, heavy handed caricature of high class pompousness that sounded painful not only to hear but also to say! Where was the directer? (I pictured some idiot in the sound booth saying "more, more, more!")

Perhaps it wasn't Sarah fault but the directors fault? I don't know. I just know I'm going to purchase this on Kindle because the reviews at Amazon were great.

As for the story -- I wish we had the option of putting a question mark instead of a star. I listened to almost an hour of this and I still couldn't tell you if it was good or not. I know it's only $7 -- but trust me. Go get a latte and a cookie instead.
